Why This Starter System Exists

AI tools make creating music easy.

What most creators struggle with is what comes next.

After generating a few songs, many get stuck on:

  • understanding AI music rights and ownership
  • knowing how monetization actually works
  • figuring out how releases and distribution fit together
  • feeling overwhelmed by random tips and prompts

The Free AI Music Starter System gives you a clear, beginner-friendly foundation so you can move forward with confidence.

Stage 4 Support · Release, Rights & Monetization

Release AI Music With Better Rights, Readiness and Monetization Decisions

Use this page when you have work you may release and need to decide what is ready, what evidence to keep, what permission questions remain, and what job the release is supposed to do.

This is focused implementation support, not a separate curriculum. The Free Creator Academy remains the core sequence. Stage 4 centers on Modules 13–16, especially Module 14: Release & Grow; this page also connects back to Module 4: Finish the Work when the release candidate itself still needs a finishing decision.

The real decision

Distribution is not the starting point.

Public release introduces a different set of decisions: whether the work is strong enough to represent you, whether sources and contributors are documented, whether the permissions you are relying on make sense, whether platform requirements have been checked, and what the release is supposed to accomplish.

Simple rule: if the work, rights record, metadata or release purpose is unclear, fix that uncertainty before distribution. If you want a fast practical gate before opening a distributor, use the AI Music Release Checklist 2026.
AI-Generated Release Support · Stage 4

Release the work first. Let the apps plug into the method.

If an AI music generator created most of the released recording, use the AI-Generated Song Journey as the method owner. This Stage 4 page provides release, rights, monetization and worked-case support inside that journey. Suno, Musicfy and other generators are implementation choices; TuneCore, DistroKid, BandLab and other distributors are destination choices.

AI-Generated path: Generate → Finalize → Document → Prepare → Distribute → Verify → Improve.
Commercial-use permission, copyrightability, identity or voice rights, Content ID eligibility and distributor acceptance are separate questions. Document each one instead of treating “commercial use” as “Full Copyright.”
1 · GENERATE

Choose the release candidate

Carry forward one track you actually want to release. Record the generator, model, account/plan context, creation date, lyrics and important source material before the project gets harder to reconstruct.

Current Suno v6 status & training →
2 · FINALIZE

Make the song release-ready

Choose the strongest version, resolve obvious lyric, vocal, arrangement or mix problems and make a deliberate finish decision before export.

9 checks before release →
Suno editing, stems & mastering workflow →
3 · DOCUMENT

Build the release record

Keep the song ID/title, generator/model, plan context, meaningful prompts and versions, lyric authorship, contributors, uploads, edits, selected master and evidence supporting the release position.

4 · PREPARE

Build the distributor-ready package

Lock the final audio, artwork, artist name, title, lyrics, credits, genre, explicit status, release date, metadata and destination plan before you start filling distributor fields.

AI Music Release Checklist 2026 →
Universal AI Music Release Strategy →

5 · DISTRIBUTE

Choose the distributor that fits the release

The methodology does not require one distributor. Keep the preparation method and switch the implementation.

TuneCore for AI music creators →
DistroKid release preflight →
BandLab for Suno creators →
6 · VERIFY

Track what actually happens

Submission is not the finish line. Save the distributor review status, ISRC/UPC, platform approvals or rejections, artist-profile claims, social-library delivery and live links. Treat YouTube Content ID as a separate eligibility decision.

AI Music Release Router →
Check current platform rules →
7 · IMPROVE

Turn one release into the next system

Record what delayed the release, which questions were confusing, what the platforms accepted and what you would change next time.

Udio · Check current export status first

Udio can fit the same methodology when the required export and commercial-use route is available for the project. Verify current status before building a release around it.

Check Udio in AI Rights Watch →
Participating artists: Suno has announced opt-in experiences built around individual artists, but those are a separate product layer from ordinary v6 generation. Do not treat a licensed industry-partner model as permission to select or imitate a specific artist unless Suno actually makes that artist available through an authorized experience.

First worked release: Suno v6 → TuneCore

This is the case study I am documenting in public. The exact candidate is selected, but the evidence record is being completed before distributor submission.

Selected candidate ID: b851d35a-aecf-4cb8-bde6-1e3193ed850e. Open it on Suno →

Current case status: candidate selected → Suno origin/model/date/plan/lyrics/input evidence being captured → finalization → permitted Suno download → release package → TuneCore submission → downstream verification. Unknown fields stay pending until source evidence exists.

You can learn the whole path for free.

The paid product is not meant to hide the method. The free training explains the sequence, the decisions and current implementation. The paid workbook makes the documentation faster and easier to repeat.

C$5 Proof Record · One serious release

AI Music Proof Record — Release-Ready + Copyright-Prep Fillable Workbook gives you one organized working record for one serious AI-generated or AI-assisted release.

Start with the Release Record: final audio, artwork, credits, metadata, distributor prep, submission status and live links. Then build the Proof Record: creation date, song/project ID, plan context, model/version, prompts, source material, versions, human contribution and supporting evidence. Use the deeper copyright-prep worksheets only when that release needs them.

Free training explains what to check. This workbook keeps the answers for one specific song in one place.

Automation Layer · In development

The JR methodology stays the same. The next evolution is to automate repetitive tracking, missing-evidence checks, status updates, field reuse and next-action guidance while keeping creative and rights judgments with the creator.

We teach the method → provide the tools → improve the workflow → automate the repetitive parts.

Before release

Check four things.

1. Is the work actually finished?

Separate practice output from material ready to represent your catalogue. Use Module 4 for the finish decision.

2. Can you explain the rights picture?

Keep source, contributor, permission and version records. Use the Rights & Ownership Guide when the question needs deeper explanation. For a high-value track requiring a consolidated rights record, use the AI Music Rights Record — Label Edition.

3. Is the release operationally clean?

Confirm final audio, artwork, metadata, credits, destination links and timing before launch. Use the AI Music Release Checklist for the fast gate and the Release & Distribution Planner for one-track planning.

4. What is the release meant to accomplish?

Audience evidence, catalogue value, direct offers, licensing tests and campaign learning are different jobs. Choose the purpose before measuring success.

Blocked or unresolved

Return to the Rights & Ownership Check; if the issue is a current platform rule, verify it through AI Rights Watch.

Clear enough for release planning

Run the Track Validation Checklist, then the Pre-Upload Checklist and one-track Release & Distribution Planner.

Moving toward a revenue use

For licensing, sync, client work, direct sale, catalog use or other monetization routes, use Rights to Revenue.

High-value or disputed legal question

A completed JR record can organize the facts and evidence, but it is not a legal opinion. When the stakes or uncertainty justify it, take the record to qualified counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.

Monetization clarity

The track is not the whole business.

Streaming, direct-to-fan offers, licensing, creator products, audience growth and related content depend on the quality of the work, applicable rights, platform rules, demand and execution. None is automatic.

Treat monetization as a testable operating question: what value are you offering, to whom, through which channel, and what evidence will tell you whether it is working?

After release, use Module 15: Measure & Improve to review actual evidence.

Next action

Finish the work. Keep the record. Release with a purpose.

If the release is AI-Generated, start with the AI-Generated Song Journey. For any release that reaches the upload stage, run the AI Music Release Checklist 2026. If the release is ready, use the C$5 AI Music Proof Record when you want one professional working record, then continue into distributor execution and Module 14.

Educational information only: rights and ownership guidance here is not legal advice. Platform rules, contracts and laws can change; verify requirements that affect a specific release.

Weekly Creator Campaign Planner

Build a small campaign around one real objective, one audience, one approved message and one next action. Use the Module 15 decision as the starting constraint, generate a 3- or 4-post execution worksheet, then record the evidence that should influence the next cycle.

This is support—not another curriculum. The universal Module 16 capstone can be music, writing, a product/service test, a portfolio/brand launch or another real campaign. This planner is specifically useful when the execution blocker is a small weekly content campaign.

0. Carry forward the Module 15 decision

1. Define the campaign

2. Campaign worksheet

Carry forward the Module 15 constraint, define the campaign above, then generate the worksheet.

3. Evidence after publishing

GPT Companion

Use GPT to turn the supplied Module 15 record into this campaign brief, adapt the approved message across channels, build the execution checklist and summarize supplied evidence. Do not let it invent analytics, audience response, rights clearance, causality, market fit or commercial readiness.

4. Weekly Artist Label Office review

Optional advanced Stage 4 support: if you are operating yourself like a label, the campaign can report into your Artist Label Office. You are the Founder / CEO of your own label even when you are currently the only person doing the work.

Review the five Artist Label Office seats →

What changed?

What was released, updated, tested, organized, documented or decided this week?

What evidence proves it?

Link the claim to analytics, files, registrations, audience behavior, partner activity or another source you can verify.

What is blocking progress?

Name the actual dependency: creative decision, brand confusion, rights gap, missing asset, platform issue, budget, time or outside response.

What Founder decision is needed?

Do not let a specialist problem sit unresolved because nobody owns the decision. State what must be chosen.

What must be complete before next review?

Turn the review into concrete deliverables with an owner and due point.

Creator Economics & Evidence Dashboard

Measure what your creator work costs, what it returns, and what decision the evidence supports. This is a decision tool—not bookkeeping software, tax advice, or a promise that a trend will continue.

What changed: this version separates cash spend from the value you assign to your time. It does not call your time “COGS,” does not double-count tool costs, and does not predict a break-even date from a few months of data.

1. Record one month

Use CAD, USD, EUR or another label. The dashboard does not convert currencies.

2. Cash in, cash out, time invested

Cash revenue

Record money actually attributable to the period. If attribution is uncertain, say so in your notes.

External cash spend

Time investment

This is a decision value for your time, not an accounting classification.

Evidence

3. Read the economics

External cash spendCAD 0.00
Cash resultCAD 0.00
Return on cash spend
Economic result incl. timeCAD 0.00

Definitions used here

  • External cash spend = tools + promotion + contractors/other cash costs.
  • Cash result = revenue − external cash spend.
  • Return on cash spend = (cash result ÷ external cash spend) × 100. This page names the formula explicitly rather than using a vague “ROI” label.
  • Assigned time value = hours × your chosen hourly value.
  • Economic result = cash result − assigned time value.

4. Turn evidence into a decision

Save and export

This dashboard saves entries in this browser using local storage. It does not create a Shopify customer record or sync across devices. Clearing browser/site data can remove the saved entries.

No save performed yet.

5. Monthly evidence history

Month Revenue Cash Spend Cash Result Return on Cash Spend Time Hours Primary Signal Decision

History is evidence, not a forecast. Look for repeated patterns before changing a creator system because of one unusually good or bad month.

6. Add the Artist Label Office KPI layer

Economics are only one part of running yourself like a label. For advanced Stage 4 development, review the creator as the Founder / CEO of their own label and make sure five specialist jobs are producing evidence.

Track: Top 3 work locked, release priorities, creative consistency, project hierarchy, development milestones and unresolved creative blockers.

Decision question: Is the strongest current work clear enough to lead the next campaign or professional introduction?

Brand, Marketing & Audience

Track: profile consistency, content cadence, qualified audience growth, engagement quality, saves, shares, replies, conversion and strongest content / story.

Decision question: Is the audience responding to the identity and message we intended?

Label Operations, Rights & Releases

Track: priority works with ownership records, metadata completeness, publishing / PRO status, collaborator records, AI provenance, masters / stems / assets and unresolved rights issues.

Decision question: What documentation gap could create an avoidable professional problem?

Commercial Strategy & Partnerships

Track: validated opportunity lanes, qualified targets, collaboration pipeline, inbound interest, revenue opportunities and introduction → meeting → next-step movement.

Decision question: Which opportunity is actually supported by the evidence now?

Artist Business / GM

Track: 30/60/90 milestones, weekly execution, budget vs plan, release / campaign adherence, dependencies, decision backlog, revenue and cost.

Decision question: Are the specialist areas moving toward one primary objective?

Use Red / Yellow / Green

GREEN: strong enough not to block the current objective. YELLOW: usable but needs evidence or development. RED: likely to create an avoidable professional problem.

Do not create a numerical score just because scoring looks professional. The status should change a decision.
