What Suno Has Confirmed + What I’m Testing
This is the primary Jack Righteous status page for Suno v6. I keep three things separate here: what Suno has officially confirmed, what I have verified in my own workflow, and what I am still actively testing. That separation matters because a product claim, one creator’s result and a repeatable workflow conclusion are not the same thing.
- Suno launched v6 on September 9, 2026.
- The current family is v6, v6-wild and v6-mini.
- v6 and v6-wild are available to Pro and Premier subscribers; v6-mini is available across plans.
- All three variants support generations up to eight minutes.
- All pre-v6 models have been retired for new generation work; older songs remain in libraries.
- v6 powers current creation/editing workflows including Remix & Edit, Custom Models and Suno Sounds.
- Standard v6 generation still creates two songs for a total of 10 credits. Max Mode costs more, and prompts using many images/videos can also increase credit cost.
- My paid account moved from v5.5 to selectable v6, v6-wild and v6-mini during the September 9 rollout.
- I am comparing all three models inside the same creator workflow rather than treating the flagship label as an automatic winner.
- In at least one early comparison, v6-mini produced the keeper I preferred. That is a song-level result, not proof that mini is universally better.

What I am not claiming yet
I am not calling one v6 model universally best. I am not treating one strong mini result as a quality ranking. I am not claiming v6-wild is automatically more creative for every song. I am not claiming a geographic rollout order based on what one account saw. And I am not treating Suno’s feature descriptions as proof that every workflow is already reliable in real production. Those are exactly the questions the testing is for.
I am retesting the workflow, not just reporting the launch
The useful work now is finding out what each model actually does well, where the new controls change the creative process, and which parts of the JR Suno training need to be adapted rather than rewritten for novelty.
What are other creators saying?
Community reaction stays separate from this tracker so reported bugs, reviews, screenshots, praise and speculation do not get mixed into confirmed platform facts or my own test results.
What Suno Has Officially Confirmed
The v6 family
v6 is the core flagship model. v6-wild is the more experimental branch. v6-mini is the lighter, faster option available across plans. Suno says all three can generate up to eight minutes in a single generation.
The generation transition
Suno’s current FAQ says pre-v6 models are retired. Existing songs stay in your library and remain playable. New remasters, covers and other iterations use the current v6 generation.
Suno also says v6 and v6-wild are Pro/Premier models while v6-mini is available to all users. Standard generation remains two songs for 10 credits. Max Mode is optional and uses more credits.
What the Three Models Mean for Creators
v6
Suno positions v6 as the more precise and reliable flagship: the model to use when you know what you want and want stronger control over the result.
v6-wild
Suno positions Wild for exploration: less predictable, more varied and more likely to push away from the prompt into unexpected territory.
v6-mini
Suno positions Mini as faster and lighter, useful for quick ideas, high-volume generation and concept exploration. My own testing adds an important caution: do not automatically treat “mini” as the throwaway model. A keeper can come from any branch.
The model name does not decide the keeper
Hold the important song direction steady enough to compare what changed, then keep the version that best serves the track. The correct model can change from song to song and from job to job.

What Suno Says v6 Changes
The launch is larger than a new audio model. Suno officially describes workflows that include natural-language section editing, single-lyric replacement, multi-source mashups, sample/isolate/build workflows and creation directed by combinations of text, audio, images and video.
Editing and revision
- Edit part of an existing song using plain-language instructions.
- Change one word or lyric line without intentionally rebuilding the entire song.
- Use v6 across current Remix & Edit workflows including Extend, Cover and Replace Section.
Build and combine
- Combine multiple sources in one request.
- Sample, isolate and build from source material in a single workflow.
- Use text, audio, images and video as creative inputs.
- Use v6-powered Custom Models and Suno Sounds.
Those are Suno’s documented capabilities. The JR testing matrix above is where I determine which ones are repeatable enough to become workflow recommendations.
Launch-Day History: What My Account Actually Showed
On September 9 my paid account initially still showed v5.5 after Suno announced v6. Later the same morning it updated to v6 · Pro, v6-wild · Pro and v6-mini. That observation remains useful as launch history, but it should not be stretched into a broader rollout claim.
Historical only: the sequence proves what one account showed at two timestamps. It never proved Canada was delayed, Premier was first, Pro was delayed or that rollout followed a geographic order.
The limited credit-free testing window that ran through September 12 has also ended. It is no longer presented here as an active offer. Any test plan built during that window should now be treated as launch-period methodology, not a current promotion.
Rights, Industry Partners and Distribution
Suno says v6 was developed with industry partners including Warner Music Group, BMG and Believe. Suno also announced a strategic partnership with Believe and TuneCore. Those relationships are relevant to the direction of the platform, but they do not collapse creator-rights questions into one answer. Commercial-use permission, copyright protection, human contribution, third-party permissions and distributor policy remain separate issues.
