This is the fastest way I know to stop a bad generation loop from becoming an expensive one.
1. Hear the failure
Do not begin with “this sucks.” Name what you actually hear: buried vocal, boomy low end, weak melody, wrong groove, ignored tempo, generic arrangement, identity drift, background artifact, incomplete lyric, or one broken section.
2. Name the layer
Ask where the problem lives. Is the musical target unclear? Is the prompt failing to translate the target? Is the model repeatedly behaving the same way despite a clear brief? Or is the song already good and you are really dealing with a production/editing issue?
3. Change one thing
Do not rewrite everything. Change one meaningful variable: model, source material, arrangement instruction, vocal direction, prompt structure, or the specific section being repaired.
4. Compare against the same target
Listen to the new result beside the keeper or reference. Did the change solve the problem without destroying what was already working?
5. Decide: keep it, fix it or stop generating
If the song is close, protect the keeper. If one section is bad, repair that section. If repeated controlled tests are not moving toward the target, stop burning credits and change the workflow.
