Free Genre Intelligence Starter · Tool 5 · Find Your Sound

Choose one useful sound lane before you generate more songs.

The Find Your Sound AI Genre Prompt Starter Kit helps you turn a locked sound direction into one controlled generation lane you can test and evaluate.

Coming from Tool 4?

Bring your Sound Direction Block forward. Do not restart.

Carry your primary musical home, supporting influence, emotional tone, energy / groove, instrument / texture, vocal / performance direction and avoid list into this kit. The job here is not to choose the sound again. It is to translate the direction you already locked into one clean, testable generation lane.

Sound Direction Block not locked yet? Return to Tool 4 →

Suno-forward, not Suno-only in principle. The current PDF uses Suno as its deepest implementation because that is where JR has the most developed prompt examples. The underlying Genre Intelligence method—rhythm, instruments, mood, vocal behavior, structure, production feel and avoid rules—can be translated to other AI music tools as their controls allow.

Use this when the direction is clear and you need a first controlled test

  • your Sound Direction Block is locked but you need to turn it into prompt language;
  • your results sound generic or outside the intended lane;
  • your prompt contains too many competing styles;
  • you need a first useful proof before deeper production work;
  • you need to decide whether the remaining problem is prompt, vocal, structure or something else.

Need vocabulary before you prompt?

Use the broader JR genre reference to compare characteristics, instruments, mood, tone and related lanes without reopening your whole project.

What the current PDF includes

  • 12 beginner-friendly sound lanes;
  • starter and expanded Suno prompt examples;
  • sound-DNA breakdowns;
  • vocal and delivery direction;
  • common beginner mistakes;
  • first-result evaluation;
  • a two-version test;
  • a prompt-builder worksheet;
  • a decision tree for what to fix next.

Tool 5 Output

Leave with evidence from one controlled generation test.

SOUND DIRECTION BLOCK → PROMPT LANE → VERSION A → VERSION B → WHAT HELD / WHAT DRIFTED → DOMINANT BLOCKER → OPERATOR DECISION

Keep the locked sound direction stable long enough to learn from the result. Change one major variable at a time, record what survived, and let the evidence choose the next tool instead of starting over.

JR Creator Intelligence placement

Genre Intelligence: primary owner. Defines the sound lane and the musical characteristics that matter.
Training Intelligence: TI #2 · Reference & Decisions → TI #3 · Build the Work.
Production Intelligence: takes over when the lane is clear but the generated result fails because of prompting, vocals, structure, arrangement, editing, mix or another production problem.

After the first controlled test

Route by the evidence.

If the lane held and the next problem is how the song moves from section to section, continue to the AI Song Structure Kit · Tool 6. If the instruction itself is weak, use the Prompt Foundation Kit. If the sound direction did not hold, return to Tool 4. Do not rebuild decisions that already survived the test.

Do not treat every weak result the same way

Current sound lanes

Hip-Hop / Rap · Reggae / Dancehall / Island · Gospel / Worship / Inspirational · EDM / Electronic · Cinematic / Score · Lo-Fi / Chillhop · Pop · R&B / Soul / Neo-Soul · Country · Afrobeat / Afro-Fusion / Amapiano · Rock / Alt-Rock · Story Song / Musical Theatre.

These 12 lanes are starter examples, not the limit of JR Genre Intelligence. The broader Genre Intelligence library continues to expand beyond this beginner PDF.

The goal

Carry the direction forward. Build one clean test. Listen for evidence. Change only what the result tells you is weak.

Current PDF remains Suno-forward while the broader Production Intelligence cross-platform layer is being finalized. Independent Jack Righteous training resource; not affiliated with Suno.
