How Jack Righteous Built an AI Music Creation Method
Jack Righteous did not begin with a finished system. It began with a simple discovery: AI could make an idea audible before I had the traditional production skills to build the entire record myself. The method came later—after generating too much, choosing badly, rebuilding projects and learning that speed without structure creates a different kind of creative problem.
The real breakthrough
AI did not replace the creator. It removed enough technical distance for the creator to hear, compare and develop ideas. The valuable skill then became deciding what the project was, which output served it and what human work was still missing.
Holy Fire was an experiment before it was a system
One of the early Jack Righteous projects was Holy Fire, an album concept built around faith, reggae, Afrobeats and modern digital production. At the time, the excitement came from being able to move from written ideas into musical drafts quickly.
The early public language around the project was too broad. It described AI as a revolution and suggested that paid tool access created complete ownership. That is not the clearest way to explain the work today.
A paid Suno plan can grant commercial-use rights for eligible songs generated during the subscription period. That does not automatically settle copyright protection, permissions for uploaded material, voice consent, trademarks, samples, distributor requirements or every release destination. Those questions must be checked separately.
Better tools make diagnosis more important.
Suno V6 can now support more focused editing, source combining and plain-language changes. That makes the old habit of repeatedly regenerating the whole song even less useful. The JR method still starts with the same question: what is actually wrong?
If the entire concept is wrong, go upstream. If the song is strong but one section fails, protect the keeper and use the smallest intervention that can solve the problem. Model choice is now part of that decision: precision, exploration and faster ideation are different jobs.
The seven-part method that emerged
Know why the song should exist
Start with the central idea, listener and emotional purpose. A tool can propose musical material, but it cannot decide which truth, testimony, story or question belongs to you.
Contribute something you can identify
That contribution may be lyrics, a spoken phrase, melody, rhythm, arrangement plan, performance, narrative world or detailed creative brief. Save the source rather than treating the final generation as the only project file.
Translate the idea into musical decisions
Define the lead genre, groove, instruments, vocal character, emotional movement and production texture. Prompting works better when it describes a coherent song instead of listing every influence you like.
Choose against the brief
A polished output can still be wrong for the project. Compare hook, lyric delivery, emotional truth, structure and identity. The creator’s judgment is most visible in what is rejected and why.
Repair the useful song instead of restarting automatically
Use controlled regeneration, Cover, Extend, Replace Section, focused V6 edits, Crop, speed changes or external editing according to the actual problem. Change one important variable at a time so each test teaches something.
Document what happened
Keep lyrics, prompts, source recordings, screenshots, generation links, downloads, licences, collaborators, edits and selection notes. Documentation supports continuity, rights review and future learning.

Connect the song to a real outcome
A song can become a release, lesson, podcast segment, product example, campaign asset, community discussion or part of a larger story. “Finished” means the work is useful in the system it was made for.

Why the method became Sound, Voice and Brand
The work eventually separated into three practical creator roads:
Find Your Sound
Musical direction, prompting, structure, selection, editing and finishing.
Find Your Voice
Lyrics, point of view, human communication and the ideas only you can responsibly express.
Find Your Brand
Visual identity, publishing, audience pathways, products and the system around the creative work.
Why these roads exist
They address the three places where fast AI output most often becomes confusing: the music does not sound connected, the writing does not sound human, or the creator has no clear way to present and use the work.
The practical standard
A Jack Righteous project should be explainable. You should be able to say what you contributed, why the version was selected, what rights support it, what still needs human work and what the finished asset is meant to do.
