What you need before you submit a Suno v6 song.

1. Commercial-use status + permitted Suno download
Confirm the exact output is eligible for your intended commercial use under Suno's current terms and obtain the file through a permitted Suno download channel. Current September 2026 guidance says paid Pro/Premier downloads carry commercial-use rights, while trial/free downloads do not. For older generations or changed plan history, verify the current track-level status instead of relying on an older rule of thumb.
2. One final audio file
Choose the exact version you are releasing and stop changing it. Use the permitted Suno download or your properly edited/exported derivative in a format accepted by the distributor you choose. If you edited, mastered, stemmed or rebuilt the track outside Suno, keep the final exported version and note the material changes.
3. Release metadata and credits
Have the artist name, song title, songwriter/composer and producer credits, language, explicit-content status, genre, release date and other contributor information ready. Your distributor may ask for real legal names for some credit fields even when the public artist name is different.
4. Final cover artwork
Prepare square artwork that meets the chosen distributor/store specifications. You need permission to use every element in the image. The release title and artist information on the artwork must not conflict with the metadata you submit.
5. Rights and source answers
Know what came from Suno and what came from somewhere else. Be able to account for uploaded audio, samples, lyrics, voices, collaborators, reference material and artwork. Suno commercial-use permission does not automatically clear third-party material and does not guarantee copyright protection.
6. The distributor's current AI rules
This is where the paths separate. TuneCore, DistroKid and BandLab can ask different questions and apply different submission rules. Read the provider-specific guide before you upload, then answer its current AI, rights, metadata and technical questions accurately.

v6 is not just another model number. Suno launched a new generation of models developed with industry partners, and the Believe/TuneCore partnership specifically says tracks created with Suno's new industry-partner model can become eligible for distribution through Believe and TuneCore. That makes the release question more important, not less.
The mistake I want creators to avoid is jumping directly from “I made a good Suno v6 song” to “upload it everywhere.” Before distribution, you should be able to identify the exact song, how it was created, what you contributed, which version is final, whether you obtained the permitted Suno download required for commercial use, and what evidence you kept.

Can I distribute music made with Suno v6?
Potentially, yes. Under Suno's current September 2026 terms, commercial exploitation requires a permitted Suno download and compliance with the applicable account/tier conditions. Current guidance says downloads made as a Pro or Premier subscriber carry commercial-use rights, while free/trial downloads do not. You still need the rights required for outside material and must satisfy the distributor and store policies that apply to the release.
Can I put a Suno v6 song on Spotify?
Potentially, yes. Spotify delivery normally happens through a distributor. First confirm your permitted Suno download and commercial-use status, then meet the applicable source-rights requirements and the distributor's current rules.
Does Suno v6 distribute directly to TuneCore?
Do not assume a one-click handoff. Suno and Believe/TuneCore have announced a partnership and an eligibility path for tracks made with Suno's new industry-partner model. For my current worked test, I am using Suno v6 → permitted download → release preparation → TuneCore. That test does not make TuneCore mandatory or preferred inside the JR system.
What should I save before distributing a Suno v6 song?
At minimum, save the exact song and model, account/plan context, the permitted-download record, important prompts and source material, lyrics authorship, meaningful human contribution, the selected final version, and the final release files and metadata.
