How to Fix Artist Profile Errors Using DistroKid's Fixer Tool
When your song appears on the wrong artist profile — or someone else's music shows up on yours — it doesn’t just look unprofessional. It confuses your fans, hurts your brand, and contaminates your data (followers, monthly listeners, algorithm signals).
If you're distributing through DistroKid, the official first move is still their self-serve Fixer workflow. DistroKid’s support documentation continues to direct creators to Fixer for artist-page mapping issues (Spotify, Apple Music, and other services).
🔧 What Is DistroKid’s Fixer?
Fixer is DistroKid’s self-service tool designed to resolve the most common artist-page problems:
- Move your release off the wrong artist page
- Remove someone else’s releases from your artist page
- Correct artist-page mismatches on major DSPs (service-by-service)
- Reduce repeat mix-ups by ensuring the correct artist page is used going forward

Which Fix Path Should You Use?
Step 1: Identify what’s wrong.
- Your release is on someone else’s artist page → you need to move your release to your correct page.
- Someone else’s release is on your artist page → you need to remove their release from your page.
- Your release is missing from your page → you need to map it to your correct artist page.
✅ PATH 1: Your Music Is on the Wrong Artist Page
- Go to Fixer: https://distrokid.com/fixer
- Select: My music is on the incorrect page
- Choose the service (Spotify / Apple Music / etc.)
- Select or paste the affected release
- Enter the incorrect artist name it’s currently tied to
- If you already have the correct artist page, choose Yes and paste your correct artist link/URI
- Submit
Processing time: depends on the service. If nothing changes after ~2 weeks, resubmit with fresh links and verify you selected the correct service.
✅ PATH 2: Someone Else’s Music Is on Your Profile
- Visit Fixer: https://distrokid.com/fixer
- Select: Someone else’s music is incorrectly on my page
- Choose the service
- Paste your artist profile URL
- Paste the URLs of the releases that don’t belong to you
- Submit
✅ PATH 3: Your Release Isn’t Showing on Your Profile
- Find your correct artist page link (Spotify artist URL / Apple Music artist page)
- Go to Fixer: https://distrokid.com/fixer
- Choose the option that matches: My music is on the incorrect page
- Submit your correct artist link and the affected release
- Re-check the service after several business days
⚠️ Fixer Tool Limitations (Read This)
- Fixer is for artist-page mapping problems — not rewriting credits, renaming artists post-release, or changing audio.
- You may need to submit fixes service-by-service (Spotify vs Apple, etc.).
- There may be no “done” notification — you often need to verify manually on the service.
🆓 Free Alternatives (If You’re Not Using DistroKid — or You Need a Backup)
1) Spotify: “Content mismatch” reporting
If music is showing on the wrong Spotify artist profile (or someone else is showing on yours), Spotify has a direct reporting path. This can help when the issue needs Spotify-side correction, or when you aren’t the distributor.
Open Spotify content mismatch: Spotify Content Mismatch
2) Your distributor’s artist-ID / wrong-page tools
If you distribute through someone else (TuneCore, CD Baby, etc.), use their equivalent artist-page / artist-ID tools and support workflows. Example reference (TuneCore workflow): TuneCore: Wrong Artist Page
