Reference-Based Content Builder | Turn Sources Into Original Work
Stage 2 implementation support · source-to-content workflow
Use references to strengthen the work without letting the reference become the work.
Books, articles, interviews, transcripts, research, Scripture, notes and lived experience can all help a creator think more clearly. The important discipline is knowing what came from the source, what you are adding, what still needs verification, and why the final piece deserves to exist.
This builder turns that discipline into a short working brief. It primarily supports Stage 2 · Find Your Voice of the Creator Academy. It is a planning tool, not another curriculum and not a copyright or permissions checker.
Keep three things separate
1. The source
Record what the source actually contributes: a fact, argument, observation, story, quotation, framework, question or reference point. Do not quietly turn the source into your own experience or idea.
2. Your contribution
Name what you are adding: interpretation, comparison, critique, lived experience, examples, creative transformation, structure, application or a new audience context.
3. The published claim
Before publication, decide which facts, quotations, dates, permissions, links or contextual details still need checking. A good draft does not remove the need to verify what you publish.
Build your source-to-content brief
Use a working summary rather than pasting large passages you do not need.
This tool runs in your browser. Information entered here is not intentionally saved or sent by this page.
Important: this is a planning and documentation aid. It does not determine whether a particular use is legally permitted, whether attribution alone is sufficient, or whether permission is required. For high-stakes or unclear source use, verify the governing rights, terms and context and seek qualified advice when appropriate.
Your reference-based content brief
Complete the fields above and build the brief.
Before you draft
Summarize before you imitate
Write down the source idea in plain language first. This forces you to understand the material before asking AI—or yourself—to turn it into something else.
Know why this source belongs
A reference should have a job. It may provide evidence, context, contrast, inspiration, a question or a starting point. If you cannot explain its job, it may not belong in the piece.
Make your contribution visible
The finished work should contain a meaningful contribution from the creator rather than merely repackaging source material with different wording.
Verify before publication
Check the claims and source details that matter to the final piece. AI can help organize notes and drafts, but it should not be treated as evidence that a fact, quote, permission or source relationship is correct.
Where this fits
This is primarily a Stage 2 · Find Your Voice implementation tool because source discipline helps creators write, explain and publish with clearer judgment. The same workflow can support a Stage 1 song concept or a Stage 3 trust-building article, but it does not create a separate path through the Academy.
