AI Music Awards 2026 Nominees: Xania Monet, Ava Bently, Slime Dot & the Industry Shift

Jack Righteous · AI Music Awards Intelligence · Nominee briefing · October 23, 2026

The first SIQA AI Music Awards nominees offer an early picture of who is gaining recognition in this developing industry. But the bigger story is the awards model itself: verified AI artists are choosing their peers, categories distinguish different ways of making music with AI, and the industry is beginning to debate what deserves artistic recognition.

Key date: The SIQA Summit and premiere ceremony are scheduled for November 12, 2026, with the main AI Music Awards on November 13 at The Mayan in Los Angeles. No 2026 winners have been announced by SIQA as of this October 23 update. The published nominees are not winners.

The five AI Song of the Year nominees

SIQA's official nominees page lists these songs in its flagship AI Song of the Year category:

  1. “Already Her” — Nova Solé
  2. “Let ’Em” — Waking Up Christopher
  3. “Morning Magic” — Millionaire Muses
  4. “God Don't Play About Me” — Aria Blu
  5. “How Was I Supposed To Know?” — Xania Monet

This list is the organizer's announced slate, not our personal ranking or a prediction of the winner. Visit SIQA to review live artist information and any official listening links.

Who else is attracting attention?

SIQA coverage has highlighted names including Ava Bently, Slime Dot, Proph3ci and Xania Monet among the broader field. Independent reporting from AI Musicpreneur reports Ava Bently and Slime Dot leading with six nominations apiece, followed by Xania Monet and Proph3ci with five each. Those figures come from a third-party tally; creators should use the official SIQA page as the authority for individual category nominations.

Visibility across multiple categories is interesting, but it should not be mistaken for proof of the best song. Genre awards, album awards, video awards and production awards recognize different creative accomplishments. Being nominated for several fields can also reflect the breadth of a project, not just the popularity of one recording.

Why the SIQA categories are worth studying

AI-assisted is not the same as fully AI-generated

The SIQA Registry describes AI-assisted music as work where both a human and AI make significant creative contributions. It uses “Human + AI Hybrid” for a specific self-voice cloning classification, and “Fully AI-generated (100%)” for work in which melody, lyrics, production and arrangement were AI-generated while the person primarily prompted, directed and selected the result. See the organizer's descriptions.

This matters to artists using Suno, Udio, traditional DAWs or combinations of tools. Your approach may be more complex than “made with AI.” A human-written topline, self-recorded vocal or carefully produced final master should be documented accurately rather than inflated or hidden.

Song, album, producer and music-video honors ask different questions

SIQA's 25-category slate includes AI Song, Artist, Album and Producer of the Year, Best AI Music Video, Best AI-Assisted Song, Best Human+AI Hybrid Song and numerous genre categories. A song that works emotionally is not necessarily the strongest music video; a sophisticated production process is not automatically the most memorable songwriting.

Peer voting is a different signal from streaming charts

SIQA says the inaugural awards are decided primarily by verified artists in its registry, with an Off the Charts Spotlight selection determined by the SIQA team. Artists cannot vote for their own work. That is a specific form of professional-community recognition; it is not a public Spotify chart, a universal expert verdict or proof that the songs sold the most copies.

The creator lessons behind this year's nominations

Lesson 1: Treat the music as a complete artistic work

The judging and recognition conversation increasingly concerns the listening experience, not the novelty of entering prompts. Pay attention to songwriting, emotional intention, lyric clarity, arrangement, pacing and replay value.

Lesson 2: Make your creative process explainable

Document the human decisions and AI tools that shaped the result. If your submission story changes depending on which category you want, your documentation needs work. Transparency is part of trust.

Lesson 3: Build artist identity beyond one viral song

Artist names, consistent credits, clear rights, an accessible catalogue and coherent visuals help people follow the creator, not just a single award-nominated track.

Lesson 4: Verify before sharing a claim

Do not say a creator “won” because a nomination announcement circulated. Link back to the specific category, spell the artist's name correctly, and distinguish official results from predictions or fan preferences.

How should you listen to the nominees?

Compare work in similar categories rather than forcing all genres into one standard. Ask four questions: What feeling or idea survives after listening? Where does the creator's direction show up? Does the production serve the song? And can I understand the declared role of AI? This is an editorial listening framework, not a claim about how SIQA itself scored each record.

For a more meaningful comparison, listen to full officially credited releases through links supplied by the artist or organizer. Short clips or synthetic promotional images are not enough to judge the work, and we will not invent music embeds or creator portraits.

Frequently asked questions

Is Xania Monet nominated?

Yes. SIQA's official list includes Xania Monet's “How Was I Supposed To Know?” in AI Song of the Year.

Are Ava Bently and Slime Dot the winners?

No. Being prominent in nomination counts does not establish an award win. Results are due at the November ceremonies.

Who votes for the SIQA AI Music Awards?

According to the organizer, verified SIQA Registry artists decide most categories, and the SIQA team chooses its Off the Charts Spotlight selection.

Can I still submit a Suno song for these awards?

SIQA's 2026 nominations are closed. Other awards remain open under different eligibility rules. Check our submission-specific guide instead of following an outdated nomination link.
