Suno AI Complete Workflow: Seven Stages from Direction to Delivery

Suno can produce audio quickly. This path teaches the work that turns generation into a directed, evaluated and documented creative project.

Follow the stages in order for your first complete project. Return to a previous stage whenever the evidence shows that the song is not ready to advance.

September 10 · Suno v6 Current Generation

Suno v6 is current; JR is now testing the workflow, models and release implications

Suno launched v6, v6-wild and v6-mini on September 9. Suno’s current v6 FAQ says all models prior to v6 have been retired. Suno lists v6 and v6-wild for Pro/Premier and v6-mini across plans. This seven-stage curriculum remains model-agnostic at its core while JR tests where the v6 family changes prompt decisions, keeper selection, revision, editing, efficiency and release readiness.

Already creating with v6? Use the main Creator Guide for confirmed features and Gary’s hands-on testing. Use the Reviews, Problems & What's Next report for outside feedback and emerging signals. If a v6 song is becoming a serious release, use the dedicated Suno v6 Distribution Guide to move from generation into professional documentation and distributor preparation. The C$5 AI Music Proof Record is the fillable working document: 27 pages with a clickable table of contents, BandLab/DistroKid/TuneCore worksheets, release metadata, evidence tracking and an optional deeper copyright-prep lane.

Learner path

The seven stages

Learn once, then Apply through completion. Paid Build resources extend individual stages with deeper tools and implementation; they do not replace the free foundation.

Stage 1 of 7 · Learn · Free

Understand the creator’s role

Prerequisite: none.

Complete: a four-sentence project-start statement defining what you will create, why it exists, what Suno may generate and what you must direct or evaluate.

Stage 2 of 7 · Apply · Free

Create the one-song creative brief

Prerequisite: Stage 1 project-start statement.

Complete: purpose, listener, emotion, genre family, movement, vocal role, instrumentation, structure, lyric requirements, required elements and exclusions.

Stage 4 of 7 · Apply · Free

Compare, diagnose and select

Prerequisite: the two-version generation set.

Complete: a Selection and Revision Record choosing A, B or neither, supported by evidence, one diagnosis, one revision priority and a preserve list.

Stage 5 of 7 · Apply · Free

Run one focused revision

Prerequisite: selected foundation, diagnosis, priority and preserve list.

Complete: a Controlled Revision Record showing what changed, why it changed, what improved, what regressed and which version remains strongest.

Stage 6 of 7 · Apply · Free

Complete the readiness gate

Prerequisite: selected current foundation and revision history.

Complete: a Song Readiness Record covering creative quality, technical condition, documentation, rights, missing assets and one route decision.

Stage 7 of 7 · Apply · Free

Finish, package, deliver, archive and reflect

Prerequisite: Stage 6 approval for delivery preparation.

Complete: a Final Delivery and Archive Record containing the exact final version, credits, metadata, assets, delivery evidence, archive locations and one improvement for the next project.

v6 release handoff: if this is a Suno v6 release, continue into the Suno v6 Distribution Guide. Use the AI Music Proof Record when you want the reusable fillable release record rather than rebuilding the evidence from memory.

Supporting resources

Use specialist guides only when they solve the current stage

Use lyric, structure, pronunciation, instrumentation and reference-analysis guides, then return to the current stage.

Technical blocker

Use Remaster, Suno Studio, stems, DAW, mixing or mastering resources only after identifying the actual technical problem.

Rights or evidence blocker

Use the Rights and Ownership Guide and Human Contribution Record before delivery.

Public release

After Stage 7 preparation, continue into the free AI-Generated Release Lane, the Suno v6 Distribution Guide when v6 is the source, and distributor-specific checklists.

Build extension

Continue deeper without repeating the free path

Complete Access adds advanced tools, deeper revision labs, documentation systems, adaptation and support. The learner should enter those resources with the relevant free-stage output already completed.
