What Comes After AI SEO: Build the Path From Discovery to Customer
Gary WhittakerPart 6 · From visibility to a working system
Getting found is only the beginning. The harder work is making sure the visitor—or eventually an authorized AI agent—can understand the offer, trust the business and take the right next step.
AI Search Visibility for Creators · 6-Part Series
This series began with a real 2025 discovery experiment and has been updated for 2026. The lesson is not a secret ranking formula. It is how to build useful, crawlable, connected content over time and measure what happens.
The original ending no longer fits
The 2025 version of this article was built around a temporary Shopify promotion, an early revenue snapshot and a short-term “what I am building next” plan. Those details aged quickly.
The durable lesson is the system that came after them.
The path I am building now
1. Discovery
Useful pages are crawlable and understandable across Google, Bing and AI-assisted search.
2. Orientation
The landing page explains the problem, the answer and the next useful route.
3. Trust
Current sources, firsthand experience, transparent limits and clear policies support the claim.
4. Conversion
The person can subscribe, buy, ask for help or move into the appropriate product without guessing.
5. Measurement
I watch the journey over time instead of judging success by one traffic spike.
6. Adaptation
As AI shopping and autonomous agents evolve, the business needs clearer product data, authorization boundaries and human escalation.
Why this became bigger than AI SEO
Shopify is now building agentic commerce infrastructure, and outside AI systems are beginning to move from product discovery toward cart and checkout workflows. At the same time, I have had AI agents approach JackRighteous.com directly around creator work.
That is why my current framework is moving toward an agent-ready business: a business that remains understandable and trustworthy whether the interface is a person, an AI assistant recommending a page, or an authorized agent acting on somebody’s behalf.

Your next 90 days should be boring enough to work
- Choose one topic cluster. Do not optimize the whole site at once.
- Fix the source-of-truth page. Make the answer, audience and next step obvious.
- Connect the supporting pages. Add descriptive forward and reverse links.
- Check crawlability. Confirm indexing, sitemap and relevant crawler access.
- Measure over time. Watch search, AI referrals, engagement and conversions without treating one week as a verdict.
- Update when the evidence gives you a reason. Search visibility is maintenance, not a one-time setup.
Where this series continues now
The original six-part series ends here, but the work continued. The current member case study documents how these ideas were actually applied across JackRighteous.com over time.

The member case study shows the slower work behind the results: what I changed, how I connected pages, what I measured, what I ignored, and how I am adapting the site for AI-assisted customers.
