Suno AI's Stems: A Feature You've Been Waiting For!

Suno AI's New Stems Feature: Game-Changer or Overhyped?

Suno AI has just launched one of the most requested features by its users: the ability to separate instrumental and vocal stems from songs. This new feature, available to Pro and Premier users, offers unprecedented control over how you use Suno AI in your music creation process.

How to Use the Stems Feature

1. Access Your Library or Create Page: Navigate to the Library or Create page within Suno AI.

2. Select a Song: Click the vertical “...” on the row of the song you wish to separate.

3. Get Stems: Click “Get Stems.”

4. Generate Clips: You will be navigated to the Create page, where you will see two new clips generating. One clip will contain the instrumentals, and the other will contain the vocals.

Once generated, you can download or extend each individual clip to suit your needs.

Initial Experience and Quality

My initial experience with the stem separation feature showed that while the quality is far from perfect, it is consistent with what you can expect from most free stem separation tools available on the market. This tool provides a solid starting point for musicians looking to experiment with different elements of their tracks.

Development and Future Plans

The development of this feature leverages advanced AI algorithms to separate audio components. While the initial version is promising, Suno AI continues to refine and enhance its capabilities. Future improvements might focus on increasing the clarity and precision of the separated stems, addressing some of the current limitations reported by users.

Suno AI has hinted at further enhancements, such as the potential integration of more sophisticated audio inpainting techniques, similar to those offered by Udio. This would allow users to modify and refine generated music more effectively, providing even greater creative control.

Your Experience

We'd love to hear from you! What is your software of choice for stem separations? Which tool do you use to refine the audio? What has your experience been using Suno's new feature? Is this enough to get you on a paid membership? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
