Flosstradamus x Suno AI Remix Competition: A Look Back and My Submission

The Suno AI remix competition with Flosstradamus has come to an end, leaving behind a wave of creativity, energy, and impressive remixes from producers all around the world. This competition invited the Suno community to put their own spin on “Soundclash,” a track that has had a lasting impact on the electronic music scene. Now that submissions are officially closed, let’s explore Flosstradamus' role in this competition, his influence on electronic dance music, and the unique approach I took for my entry.

Flosstradamus: Innovator of Trap and Electronic Music

Flosstradamus, initially a duo featuring J2K (Josh Young) and Autobot (Curt Cameruci), emerged in the 2000s as one of the pioneering acts in the trap genre within EDM. Their tracks, such as “Original Don,” brought a distinctive mix of hip-hop beats, booming bass, and electronic drops to festivals worldwide, establishing them as trendsetters.

After Young left in 2016, Cameruci continued as a solo artist under the Flosstradamus name, pushing the boundaries of trap and electronic music. Known for his high-energy performances and genre-blending production, Flosstradamus has influenced countless artists in the EDM scene. This legacy made the collaboration with Suno AI all the more exciting, as it offered emerging producers the chance to rework a piece of electronic music history.

"Soundclash": The Anthem that Shaped Trap Music

Released in 2015, “Soundclash” featuring TroyBoi quickly became a defining track of the EDM trap genre. With its intricate beats, heavy bass lines, and unpredictable drops, "Soundclash" captured the essence of festival culture and solidified Flosstradamus' place as an innovator in electronic music. Its enduring appeal has inspired artists to experiment and explore new frontiers in production, making it the perfect choice for a remix competition.

My Submission: The Soundclash Master Remix

For my entry, I chose to remix the Soundclash Master track. I approached the remix by cropping out the original version and extending the track from the 3:31 mark onwards, allowing me to add my personal flair to this iconic piece. Utilizing Suno AI's tools, I also edited the lyrics and used the AI-generated image feature to create a fresh, new cover for my remix. This step added a distinct visual element to my entry, giving it a unique identity in the competition.
