Build Your Owned Content, SEO and Discovery System
Useful content should help the right visitor find the site, understand the creator and move toward a meaningful next step.
1. Define the content jobs
Content may answer a question, teach a method, compare choices, document a project, support an offer or maintain a relationship. Every page needs a primary audience, intent and next action.
2. Build hub-and-supporting-page architecture
Group related material under clear hubs rather than publishing isolated articles. Jack Righteous examples include AI music, Creator Commerce, AI Writing, AI Visuals, BandLab, Creator Tools, Find Your Sound, Find Your Voice and Find Your Brand. A hub should orient the reader and route them to the right depth.
3. Match search intent without writing for robots
| Intent | Useful page response |
|---|---|
| Learn | Clear answer, explanation, steps and supporting evidence. |
| Compare | Consistent dimensions, trade-offs and decision guidance. |
| Act | Focused landing, resource, tool, product or contact path. |
| Navigate | Hub, glossary, directory or start-here page. |
4. Establish internal-link rules
Each useful article should connect backward to its hub, sideways to directly relevant support and forward to a newsletter, resource, conversion or offer where that transition genuinely serves the reader. Use descriptive anchor text and avoid stuffing unrelated links.
5. Prevent duplication and cannibalization
Before creating a page, search the site. Decide whether the need calls for a new article, an update, a merge, a new section or a redirect. One authoritative page is usually stronger than several weak pages competing for the same purpose.
6. Build update and retirement rules
Record factual dependencies, review date, owner and evidence. Update content when the platform, law, price, feature, process or audience need materially changes. Merge or retire pages that are obsolete, duplicative or unable to provide a useful next step.
7. Measure discovery quality
Review impressions, clicks, landing-page visits, internal-link clicks, newsletter signups, downloads, offer-page visits and assisted conversions. Ranking alone is not the outcome. A page should attract relevant people and help them move.
8. Build for human and AI-assisted discovery
Use accurate titles, descriptive headings, concise direct answers, structured sections, clear authorship, source transparency, current dates where needed and consistent internal relationships. Do not manufacture authority or publish unsupported claims.
Completion standard
The creator has defined content hubs, page roles, search intent, internal-link standards, newsletter and offer transitions, update and retirement rules, and a measurement plan that evaluates useful visitor movement.
