This page began as a July 2025 walkthrough of Suno v4.5 Plus. The interface has moved on. Rather than pretend an old menu map is current, this guide now preserves the useful workflow lessons and shows you how to carry them into Suno V6.
The quick answer
The biggest change is not simply where a button moved. Suno V6 is built around a broader creation system. The V6 family now includes v6, v6-wild, and v6-mini, and Suno says V6 powers its creation and editing tools, including Remix & Edit, Custom Models and Suno Sounds.
That means the useful skill is no longer memorizing every Home Page button. It is knowing where you are in the job: start an idea, generate, organize, edit, refine, then decide what leaves Suno.
What the 2025 guide got right
The original v4.5 guide taught four habits that still matter:
- Know your starting surface. Do not wander through menus when your goal is to create.
- Keep your versions organized. Good generations become much more useful when you can find the keeper, the alternate and the experiment later.
- Separate discovery from production. Listening to other work can help you study structure, genre language and arrangement, but it should not become a shortcut to copying somebody else's identity.
- Watch product updates. Suno changes quickly. A workflow can stay useful even when the exact interface changes.
What is no longer safe to treat as current
The old article listed a fixed v4.5 menu — Home, Create, Library, Search, Radio, Explore, Notifications, Invite and What's New — as though that exact layout would stay stable. It did not.
It also recommended keeping an arbitrary minimum of 10 credits before a session. That is not a meaningful production rule. The better habit is to know the model you are using, the cost of the experiment you are about to run, and how many iterations you are willing to spend before you stop and evaluate.
How to orient yourself in Suno V6
Use the interface as a map of jobs, not a list of buttons:
Open the creation flow when you have an idea you want to turn into music.
Suno documents the model selector at the top right of the Create form. V6, V6-wild and V6-mini serve different creative goals.
Make deliberate variations. Do not keep generating just because you can. Listen for what is worth protecting.
V6 supports targeted edits, including changing part of a song or a lyric while preserving the rest.
Studio 2.0 adds a multitrack production environment with MIDI and deeper editing control for creators who need it.
Name versions, preserve source files and keep track of what you contributed before distribution or further production.
A better beginner session
- Decide what you are trying to make before opening generation.
- Choose the V6 model that matches the job: precision, exploration or fast ideation.
- Generate a small set of purposeful options.
- Pick the strongest keeper before making more.
- Use editing tools to fix the section that is weak instead of rebuilding a song you already like.
- Move into Studio or an external DAW only when the song needs deeper production control.
- Document the version you intend to keep, release or develop further.
The JR way to think about navigation
The interface is only the front end. Your creative system is bigger:
Make It → Mean It → Own It → Operate It
On Suno, most Home/Create navigation sits inside Make It. The moment you start deciding what the song means, how you contributed, what rights or permissions apply, and whether it is ready to distribute, you have moved into the rest of the system.
