Suno AI Update: New Fade-Out & Editing Tools Explained

Suno AI's New Editing and Fade-Out Features: Everything You Need to Know

Suno AI has rolled out exciting updates, making song editing easier and more seamless than ever before. In this article, we’ll break down the new fade-out feature, the streamlined editing tools, and the introduction of a student plan to help make AI music creation more accessible. We’ll also include a step-by-step guide on how to use these updates effectively.

Key Updates in Suno AI

1. Song Fade-Out for Seamless Endings

One of the most requested features is now available—the ability to add a fade-out effect at the end of a track. This ensures a smoother, more natural song conclusion instead of an abrupt stop.

2. New Streamlined Editing Tools and UI Update

Previously, editing a song required navigating through multiple menus. Now, all editing tools are in one place with a brand-new user interface, making the process much more intuitive.

3. Suno AI Student Plan

To help more users access these advanced features, Suno AI has introduced a student plan, offering discounted access to Pro-level tools.

How to Use Suno AI’s New Editing Features

Editing Songs in the New UI

Before the update: Editing required clicking on the three dots next to a song, selecting “Edit,” and then modifying each section separately.

After the update: Now, the “Edit” button is clearly visible next to each song in your library. Clicking it brings you to a new screen where Suno AI automatically analyzes the song structure, dividing it into sections like verse and chorus.

All editing tools are conveniently placed at the top, including the fade-out feature.

Replacing Sections in a Song

  1. Click on the Replace Section button.
  2. Suno AI will display lyrics on the left and allow you to modify the music style on the right.
  3. A white box at the bottom lets you select the section you want to replace.
  4. To replace an entire section, double-click on it, and the box will snap into place.
  5. Adjust additional settings using the gear icon, which allows toggling an instrumental mode or manually adjusting lyrics.
  6. Click Generate Adjustments, review the replacements, and confirm the one you prefer.

Extending a Song

  1. The interface is similar to the replace tool, but the white box is fixed in place.
  2. Adjust the slider to indicate where you want the song extension to start.

Cropping a Song

  1. Move the cursor to the section you want to isolate.
  2. Click the Crop button.
  3. After processing, return to your library to find the cropped version marked with a crop identifier.

Adding a Fade-Out Effect

  1. Click the Fade-Out button.
  2. A fixed white box will appear—move the cursor to set where you want the fade to start.
  3. Click the Fade-Out button again to apply it.
  4. The library will show the updated song with a fade identifier.

Why These Updates Matter

Many users have expressed frustration over the lack of precise editing tools in AI music generators. These updates help tackle those issues by allowing greater creative control over songs. The fade-out effect is particularly useful for a more professional sound, while the student plan opens the door for more users to experiment with AI music.
