Choose what is already yours
Start by protecting the human contribution you do not want the AI to rewrite.

Preserve the source recording. Use AI to explore accompaniment, arrangement, transformation or production possibilities while keeping the original evidence.

Turn those choices into clear instructions. The AI should execute a defined musical role rather than determine the whole identity.

The working sequence
Build the song in seven controlled moves.

Define the song.
Write the purpose, listener, sound lane, emotional target and what must remain yours.

Choose one AI job.
Examples: generate instrumental ideas, create a demo vocal, suggest arrangement variations, transform an authorized voice, produce a texture, repair a section or help compare options.

Give the AI bounded instructions.
Use prompts and meta tags to describe the job. Avoid asking the system to invent missing identity, meaning or rights-sensitive decisions.

Generate only enough to compare.
Keep the variable controlled. Compare against the source or approved direction—not against whatever is newest.

Edit or perform directly.
Rewrite, rearrange, record, cut, repair, mix or produce where meaningful human contribution improves the work.

Document the decisions.
Keep drafts, source files, project versions, rejected candidates, raw performances and notes showing why changes were made.

Finish the current version.
Resolve the largest remaining blocker, export the working asset and decide whether it needs more production, rights review or release work.
