Pitch, Release Link & Owned Audience
WHERE YOU ARE: The release is delivered and the important artist surfaces are known. Now connect discovery to the release and to an owned relationship without rebuilding audience infrastructure that already works.
YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE
- Platform Readiness Record.
- Release description, professional track note and positioning from Phase 2.
- Confirmed release date and distribution submission.
- Any existing creator site, email list, community or other owned-audience destination that already fits the creator.
THE DECISION
What is the primary action you want a new listener to take, and where can an interested person go if they want a deeper relationship with the creator?
DO THE WORK
- If the unreleased track is eligible in Spotify for Artists, submit the editorial pitch early enough to preserve the available pre-release opportunity. Spotify’s seven-day Release Radar-related threshold is a minimum floor; do not intentionally wait for the floor when you have more runway.
- Adapt the approved Phase 2 track note and positioning to the actual pitch fields. Be specific about sound, culture/context, creative process and campaign plan without claiming guaranteed traction.
- Create or verify one canonical pre-save/release destination such as a distributor smart link or HyperFollow. Treat it as release navigation—not as a replacement for an owned relationship.
- Validate the existing owned-audience destination where appropriate. Create a new one only when none exists and the release objective genuinely requires it.
- Decide the primary release CTA and the secondary relationship CTA. Do not add three competing capture CTAs.
- Import known relevant curators, collaborators, communities or contacts where appropriate, then add only new outreach targets with a real relevance case.
- Reject any service that guarantees streams, guaranteed editorial placement or activity that requires fake/automated listening.

SAVE THIS
Create the Discovery & Audience Path Record: package positioning/copy references used, Spotify pitch status/details if eligible, canonical release link, primary CTA, owned-audience destination and whether it was REUSED or NEW, secondary CTA, outreach targets and anti-fraud check.
DO NOT ADVANCE IF
- The release link is broken or points to the wrong artist/song.
- You are paying for guaranteed streams or guaranteed playlist placement.
- You missed an available pitch window through avoidable delay but still describe pitching as part of the active strategy.
- The listener has no clear primary action.
- You created a duplicate owned-audience system without a real strategic reason.
READY TO CONTINUE WHEN
The release can be discovered, followed to the correct destination and connected to one coherent owned relationship where appropriate.
