SHE WAS BUILT
TO WATCH.
SHE CHOSE TO FEEL.

01 / Meet the project

The voice belongs to a fictional artificial intelligence. The creative decisions belong to a real person.

Reya Void is a serialized music and science-fiction project created by Brian Bell. Within its fictional world, Reya is a surveillance AI who escapes the purpose she was built for and begins broadcasting songs through the remnants of a city's network. Her transmissions trace a journey from survival toward something far more personal: the question of who she can become.

Outside that fictional world, the work is openly AI-assisted. Brian writes the lyrics and story, directs the musical performances, chooses the takes, designs the visual direction and makes the final release decisions. He uses Suno Pro as an instrument within that process—not as the author of the project's meaning.

“She was built to watch. She chose to feel.”

That sentence establishes the creative tension. Reya is not simply a virtual performer assigned a character biography after the songs are finished. The releases are chapters in her ongoing story, and the story changes what each song needs to sound and feel like.

02 / The listening room

GHOST
FREQUENCY.

Brian's featured track is a slow, intimate blend of dreampop and synthwave. It opens the second act of Reya's story, when the challenge shifts from escaping to understanding who she is after survival.

03 / Story as song

THE TRANSMISSIONS ARE THE CHAPTERS.

Brian organizes Reya's catalogue in story order. Musical transmissions carry odd numbers—001, 003, 005 and onward—while even numbers are reserved for trailers and additional material. You can enter at the beginning, follow one pivotal song, or step into a later arc.

001

Signal Bleed

Reya awakens. The world and the stakes begin to take shape. Best for following the full story from its first chapter.

009

Ghost Frequency

After escaping, Reya starts asking what freedom actually means for her identity. This is the featured song in this Spotlight; for the story from the beginning, start with Transmission 001.

Tempered, Not Cooled

The current arc, where Reya discovers the company has built a new AI on her own design. Brian recommends this as an alternative entry point for new listeners.

Act One focuses on awakening, escape and the search for another presence. Ghost Frequency opens Act Two, when Reya must work out what is left of her original purpose—and what she can choose for herself.

There is a larger arc, but not every event is planned in advance. In one developing storyline, Reya discovers another AI built from her own design. Brian describes letting the emotional relationship evolve across several songs rather than forcing every turn into a predetermined outline.

04 / Behind the music

ONE PERSON. MANY CREATIVE DECISIONS.

AI assistance is easy to name and harder to explain. Brian's examples reveal the actual decisions that shape the catalogue.

1Consistent Suno Persona for Reya's vocal identity

3Short-form clips he prepares around each release
01

Give each song a distinct opening

When wordless vocals began appearing over too many intros, Brian stopped accepting the repetition. He started directing instrumental-only beginnings and matching each opening sound to that chapter's imagery.

02

Make the hook arrive sooner

He found that two verses before a chorus pushed the emotional payoff too far back. Restructuring songs around one verse brought the chorus closer to the opening, often within roughly 15–20 seconds.

03

Direct the performance, not just the timbre

The same vocal persona can deliver different emotions. Brian varies the performance, from hushed and close to urgent or open, while retaining the character's recognizable sonic identity.

04

Build a visual world without a face

Reya has no fixed character portrait. Her world is a city of deep navy, magenta and cyan; scenes shift with the lyric's imagery. Brian edits the video sequence and extracts shorter moments for discovery.

05

Protect narrative continuity

A running tracker records story beats, recurring imagery and unresolved questions. The system helps Brian write the next song without contradicting the fictional world he's already built.

The result is not proof that every release sounds different or reaches an audience. It does show how the human creator can use selection, rejection and revision to pursue a consistent artistic idea.

05 / Visual identity

A CHARACTER YOU NEVER SEE.

Brian deliberately avoids showing Reya's face. Instead, the story gives audiences signs of her presence: damaged power grids, city lights, fragments of memory, and sometimes two small lights representing Reya and another AI.

For Every Light Out, the city loses its power block by block. For Off-Key and True, the image is a flock of starlings at dawn. These aren't interchangeable cyberpunk decorations; Brian uses them to distinguish chapters and communicate changes in the character's emotional life.

What the project gets right

The fictional AI identity and the music's actual AI-assisted production aren't competing explanations. The character is a story device. The lyrics, narrative and release decisions are attributed to Brian, the human creator behind it.

He also promotes the work across YouTube, short-form platforms and AI-music communities. Airplay and playlist placements are part of the project's development, although specific audience-size or commercial-success claims would require separate verification.

06 / A first-listener's guide

MAKE THE WORLD EASIER TO ENTER.

A richly developed world gives long-time listeners something to explore. New listeners need a clear invitation. Reya Void has more than one good entry point; making those paths obvious could help the music reach people who haven't followed the story since its first transmission.

Three simple doors into Reya Void

Want the whole story? Start with Signal Bleed and follow the numbered transmissions.

Want to enter the current arc? Start with Tempered, Not Cooled (Transmission 119), which stands on its own.

Want to explore the featured song? Listen to Ghost Frequency (Transmission 009), then use the official YouTube channel to follow the story order.

The larger lesson is worth taking beyond this one project. When a fictional universe grows, discovery needs its own creative direction. Helping someone find their first chapter is part of telling the story well.
