What audio tags can do
Eleven v3 supports emotional cues, delivery directions and non-verbal reactions such as [curious], [whispers], [laughs], [sighs] and [clears throat].
Use fewer tags with clearer intent
One well-placed tag before an emotional beat is easier to evaluate than five tags in a sentence. Overdirection makes it harder to know what is helping.
The script still has to support the performance
A [laughs] tag attached to text that is not funny may produce a result that feels forced. Direction works best when the words and situation support it.
Audio tags are model-specific
Eleven v3 supports audio tags; older/non-v3 workflows rely more on context, punctuation and settings. Do not assume the same control syntax works across every model.
Build a reusable tag test
