Before You Start

Prerequisite

Bring a real target

Bring a real short-form concept, rough cut or beat map and know the job of the first two seconds.

Intended outcome

Finish with evidence

Leave with one audio direction matched to a 15, 30 or 60-second content structure.

Working rule

Change deliberately

Use the smallest direction that can solve the current problem. Compare against the brief and protect what already works.

Limitation: prompt language is directional, not deterministic. Different AI music platforms and models can interpret the same instruction differently. Judge the audible result and move to editing or deeper training when prompting is no longer the right tool.

Short-Form Audio Builder

1 · Content job

What is the video doing?

Reveal, teach, sell, narrate, motivate, entertain, transform, demonstrate or establish mood.

2 · First two seconds

Immediate motif, impact, rhythm, vocal phrase, tension cue or recognizable sound identity.

3 · Edit behavior

How does the audio help the cut?

Stable bed, beat-drop reveal, transition hits, loop, countdown, voiceover space or rising energy.

15 / 30 / 60-Second Structure System

15 Seconds · Immediate

0–2: hook or recognition. 2–6: establish groove. 6–11: one variation or reveal. 11–15: payoff or loop-back.

30 Seconds · Mini Arc

0–3: hook. 3–10: stable main section. 10–18: contrast. 18–26: return or lift. 26–30: clean button or loop.

60 Seconds · Full Short-Form Story

0–3: recognition. 3–18: first section. 18–32: contrast. 32–48: strongest section. 48–60: payoff, CTA space or loop-out.

Voiceover First

Keep melody density low, stabilize the groove and reserve major impacts for visual transitions or key spoken points.

Energy-Matching Matrix — Match the Audio to the Visual Job

Low Energy · Narration / Education

Stable groove, low melodic density, restrained bass movement, few transitions. Best when the spoken message must remain dominant.

Medium Energy · Lifestyle / UGC

Clear pocket, one memorable motif, modest section change and enough movement to support cuts without stealing focus.

High Energy · Reveal / Fitness / Promo

Immediate transient impact, stronger bass movement, fast rhythmic clarity and one obvious payoff or drop.

Rising Energy · Transformation / Story Arc

Start restrained, add density in stages and time the strongest section to the visual reveal rather than to a conventional song chorus.

Floating Energy · Aesthetic / Travel / Mood

Prioritize texture, continuity and visual atmosphere. Avoid excessive drum fills or abrupt changes unless the edit calls for them.

Stop-Start Energy · Comedy / Fast Cuts

Use silence, short impacts and predictable reset points so punchlines and visual edits remain readable.

20 First-2-Second Hook Directions

start with the strongest melodic motif immediately; no ambient intro
open with one clean impact followed by the main groove within one beat
begin with a short vocal phrase that can function as the title or recurring audio identity
open with bass first, then add drums on the next beat for immediate physical energy
start with a recognizable two-note motif and repeat it before adding harmony
begin with a one-beat silence followed by the full hook for contrast
open with a rising micro-build no longer than one second, then hit the main groove
start with a clap, snap or percussive signature that returns at each edit point
open with a filtered version of the hook, then reveal the full spectrum by second two
begin with a short chant or group response that can repeat across multiple videos
start with a guitar, piano or synth riff that reads clearly even under phone speakers
open with a low-impact cinematic hit and immediate pulse for reveal content
start with an unusual texture for less than one second, then anchor quickly into a clear beat
begin with the strongest chorus fragment instead of building from a verse
open with a clean rhythmic pattern designed to match three quick visual cuts
start with a spoken or half-sung one-line hook, then leave space for creator voiceover
begin with a bright melodic accent and immediate upbeat groove for food, lifestyle or travel
open with a dark bass pulse and clipped motif for fashion, luxury or dramatic edits
start with a ticking or countdown rhythm when the content depends on anticipation
begin with the exact motif used at the end so the clip can loop invisibly

10 Seamless Loop Directions

end on the same chord, texture and rhythm that begins the clip so the restart feels intentional
remove the final downbeat and let the platform restart supply the resolution
repeat the opening motif in the last two seconds with reduced instrumentation
design the final vocal phrase to end on a word or breath that naturally leads into the first line
use a rising final sound that resolves only when the opening beat returns
keep the bass note sustained through the final frame so the restart does not create a low-end gap
avoid long reverbs or cymbal tails when a seamless loop is the priority
end with the same one-beat silence used before the opening hook
use a rhythmic pickup in the last half-second that completes on beat one of the restart
for montage content, make the final edit point rhythmically equivalent to the first cut

Audio Brand System — Make the Sound Recognizable Across Posts

Keep 2–3 constants

Choose recurring traits such as drum character, bass behavior, instrument motif, vocal texture, tempo range or transition sound.

Change the content job

Use the same sound identity differently for tutorials, announcements, product reveals or lifestyle posts instead of regenerating a new identity every time.

Document what worked

Save the prompt direction, first-two-second hook, section length, loop behavior and the visual content it supported.

Do not chase every trend

Trend compatibility can help distribution, but a recognizable creator sound becomes more useful when it survives beyond one format cycle.

12 Short-Form Audio Troubleshooting Fixes

The intro takes too long

Remove atmospheric setup. Put the strongest motif, rhythm or vocal cue inside the first two seconds.

The hook does not land

Simplify it. Use one rhythmic or melodic idea and repeat it before adding variation.

The audio fights the voiceover

Reduce melody density, high-frequency activity and vocal layers; keep a stable supportive groove.

The reel feels slow

Shorten section lengths, reduce sustained pads and create a meaningful change every four to eight seconds.

The drop feels random

Build one clear cue into it: silence, rising pitch, drum reduction or transition hit.

The loop has an obvious seam

Match the ending harmony, rhythm and texture to the opening or remove the final resolution.

The audio sounds generic

Define content job, groove, sound palette and hook mechanism rather than saying only “viral” or “catchy.”

The track is too busy for fast edits

Use fewer foreground layers and create predictable rhythmic edit points.

The audio feels like an ad

Reduce constant uplift, bright impacts and corporate-style builds; restore genre personality and natural groove.

Every post has different audio identity

Keep two or three recurring sonic traits and change only the content-specific layer.

The 60-second version gets repetitive

Add one contrast section around the middle and return to the strongest hook later.

The audio is good but does not fit the video

Change the energy curve or edit behavior, not necessarily the genre. The audio job must match the visual job.

Short-Form Audio Completion Check

Before you call the audio finished, verify:

  • The useful moment begins inside the first two seconds unless the concept deliberately requires suspense.
  • The energy curve matches the visual job.
  • Voiceover remains intelligible if narration is part of the content.
  • The strongest transition or payoff occurs where the visual needs it—not where a traditional song structure would normally put it.
  • The ending either resolves cleanly or loops intentionally.
  • Two or three sonic traits are documented if this audio belongs to an ongoing creator identity.

Completion task: create one 15- or 30-second piece, test it against an actual vertical video, note one mismatch, revise once, and save the final prompt + timing map + loop decision.

Success criteria: the audio supports the content immediately, leaves the important visual or spoken information clear, and has a deliberate ending or loop rather than simply being a chopped section of a longer song.
