Can Jack Righteous Bring About World Peace?
World peace has been part of the Jack Righteous mission for years. What has changed is not the ambition. It is the question I am willing to ask about it.
What if the hardest enemy of peace is not only War—but the temptation to defeat War by becoming governed by War's methods?
I do not have the ending to this story. I do not want one yet.
Jack Righteous is becoming a character who wants peace in a world that will repeatedly test what that commitment actually costs. The story gives me a place to wrestle with questions that become uncomfortable as soon as peace stops being theoretical.
Peace is easy to praise before somebody attacks
What happens when somebody attacks you?
Does refusing retaliation protect peace—or simply leave innocent people exposed?
What if other people depend on you?
Self-sacrifice is one question. Allowing someone else to be harmed when you could intervene is another.
When does defence become revenge?
A righteous reason to act does not guarantee that anger will remain righteous once power is in your hands.
Can violence ever create lasting peace?
Or does defeating one enemy through violence simply teach the next generation which tool ultimately decides the argument?
These are not questions I want the website to resolve with a slogan. They are the questions the character should have to live through.
The biblical tension matters
Jesus blesses peacemakers. He teaches love of enemies. In Matthew 26, when a sword is used during His arrest, He warns that those who take the sword perish by the sword. Paul later tells believers, as far as it depends on them, to live peaceably with everyone and not to be overcome by evil, but to overcome evil with good.
Those teachings establish a direction. They do not remove every difficult question about protection, force, government, war, justice or defence.
This is also why the Four Horsemen work matters to the developing universe. The sequence of conquest, violence, scarcity and death shows how one form of domination can produce the conditions for the next. The question for Jack is whether he can confront that cycle without becoming another engine inside it.
War is not only an enemy outside the character
A simple story would give Jack a villain called War and let him defeat the villain.
The version I am interested in is harder.
War can be an external threat. It can also become a logic: the belief that sufficient force finally settles what people, communities and nations cannot resolve another way.
If Jack begins to believe that peace can only be achieved once the right person has enough power to force everybody else into it, then the story has changed. He may still call the destination peace while travelling there by domination.
Peace is Jack's objective. War is not merely his enemy. The temptation to use War's methods is part of the enemy.
That is where Lion becomes important
One of the useful tensions in the developing Jack Righteous world is the argument that peace sounds noble until someone who does not believe in peace comes for you.
That argument deserves a strong voice in the story.
Lion can embody pressure that Jack cannot dismiss with easy answers: protect the vulnerable, recognize danger, stop pretending every opponent can be persuaded, and accept that refusing to act can also have consequences.
The creative job is not to make one side stupid so the other side can win. It is to let the strongest version of each argument survive long enough to change the characters.
World peace has been part of the mission before
This is not a new idea added to Jack Righteous in 2026. Earlier versions of the project included direct attempts to talk about a roadmap toward world peace.
What has matured is my relationship with the ambition.
I am less interested in pretending I can publish a checklist that solves world peace. I am much more interested in building a story large enough to examine why peace is so difficult even when people sincerely say they want it.
That means the project can take years. It can move through music, characters, biblical study, history, politics, technology, culture and real conversations with people attempting peacebuilding in very different ways.
The story can learn from the real world without turning real people into characters
Part of building this universe responsibly is allowing real encounters to challenge the questions I ask without simply copying somebody's life, institution or ideology into the fiction.
A researcher may make me rethink evidence. A peacebuilder may make me rethink prevention. A soldier may make me rethink protection. A survivor may make me rethink what forgiveness costs. A founder may make me rethink institutions. A theologian may challenge what I thought a biblical passage meant.
The JR Universe can absorb the questions without claiming ownership of the people who helped sharpen them.

I do not want to know the answer yet
If I decide today that Jack Righteous has already solved world peace, I have removed the most interesting part of the journey.
I want him to be tested.
- Can he remain committed to peace when peace looks weak?
- Can he protect people without learning to love power?
- Can he oppose evil without needing to dehumanize an enemy?
- Can he distinguish justice from vengeance when both feel emotionally satisfying?
- Can he build something that prevents conflict instead of only becoming better at surviving it?
- Can he recognize the moment when his own certainty becomes dangerous?
Those questions are now part of the road.
Continue the journey
The theology and the fiction need separate jobs. Righteous Kingdom examines Scripture, context and interpretation. The JR story world takes those tensions into characters, choices, music and consequences.
