Identity and story world are related, but not the same

The artist identity defines who the artist is, how they sound, how they speak and what they stand for. The story world defines the environment, pressures, relationships and recurring story logic surrounding that identity. A creator may use a fictional world, a symbolic version of reality or a restrained narrative framework based on recurring themes.

1. Decide what the world helps the artist do

A useful world should improve creative decisions, continuity and audience entry. It may connect releases, support visuals, establish recurring conflicts, create future song questions and define what belongs. When the world does not improve the music or listener experience, keep it smaller.

2. Separate public story from internal canon

Do not present fictional biography as verified real-world history. Decide how the creator will disclose fictional, symbolic and AI-assisted elements.

3. Build the minimum viable story world

• Time: era, sequence and important anchor events.
• Setting: the world’s overall environment and mood.
• Locations: places with distinct emotional or story functions.
• Main character: the artist’s position and driving need.
• Alter egos: separate functions, boundaries and relationships to the main identity.
• Supporting characters or forces: people, communities, institutions or pressures that shape choices.
• Opposition: what resists the artist and why.
• Conflict and stakes: what may be lost, changed or protected.
• Beliefs and rules: what the world treats as true, possible, costly or forbidden.

4. Control visual and verbal signals

Record recurring symbols, objects, colours, clothing, environments, phrases and public vocabulary. Every major signal should connect to an existing song, visual or intended future use. Avoid adding spectacle that has no creative function.

For Jack Righteous, one possible internal example is the 2030 Empire City framework: Jack as the central spiritual artist figure, Lion as the righteous-rage alter ego, recurring fire and crown symbols, and a near-future conflict over power, truth and obedience. This is an example of one controlled model—not a template every creator must copy.

5. Map songs into the world

For every released or approved song, record whether it occurs at a specific time, reflects a character perspective, introduces a location, reveals a rule, deepens a conflict or remains outside literal canon. Songs can connect thematically without becoming plot chapters.

6. Protect continuity

When a new lyric, image or campaign changes the world, classify the change:

• Addition: new detail that fits existing canon.
• Reframing: a new perspective that changes interpretation without deleting prior evidence.
• Contradiction: an unresolved conflict requiring correction or explanation.
• Retirement: an earlier direction formally removed from future use.

Name the human canon authority. AI may compare records and flag inconsistencies, but it cannot determine what is officially true for the artist.

7. Build the album handoff

Milestone 15 should receive a bounded creative brief—not every idea in the canon file. Select the central album conflict, listener movement, approved characters or forces, key locations, recurring symbols, narrative boundaries and unanswered question the album will explore.
