A practical Leonardo finishing workflow: choose the right master, upscale with QA, then hand off to Canva or another layout tool for covers, social graphics and print.

Upscaling should happen after creative selection, not before. It cannot rescue the wrong concept, weak identity or unusable composition. Its job is to prepare an approved visual for a larger or more demanding destination.
1. Choose the delivery master
Finish the composition, identity and important object corrections first. Keep the pre-upscale source. If typography will be added later, preserve the space it needs.
2. Know the destination
- Digital cover: inspect at thumbnail size as well as full size.
- Social: choose the actual destination ratio and safe areas.
- Print: final physical size and required resolution determine whether the source is sufficient.
- Large display: viewing distance matters; unnecessary synthetic detail can be worse than a clean source.
3. Upscale and inspect the right areas
Zoom into faces, hands, eyes, small props, repeating textures, hair edges, logos and any pseudo-text. Upscalers can add convincing texture that was never actually in the source. Treat added detail as a new generation that needs QA.
4. Hand off when the remaining job is design
Leonardo is not required to own every step. When the image is right and the remaining work is typography, layout, brand templates, print sizing or multi-asset assembly, move to Canva or the design tool that is better suited to those jobs.
5. Keep two masters
Store the clean visual master without text and the final designed master. That lets you reuse the art for alternate crops, languages, covers or campaigns without trying to erase baked-in typography later.
6. Print QA
- Confirm intended physical dimensions.
- Confirm the printer/platform’s required file format and resolution.
- Review at 100% zoom.
- Check bleed/safe zones in the layout tool.
- Proof typography and spelling outside the image generator.
- Order/proof a sample when the physical product matters commercially.
