Suno Voice Verification Failed: Fix Upload and Audio Errors
If Suno cannot verify your Voice, first confirm that you are creating it through Add Voice, not the general Upload Audio workflow. Then use a clean recording, read the displayed phrase clearly, and make sure the verification voice matches the uploaded singer.
What changed
This Is Now a Voices Problem—not a Persona Limitation
Older advice said uploaded or recorded vocals could not become a reusable Suno identity. That changed with v5.5 Voices. Suno now documents three Voice sources: a qualifying song in your library, live microphone recording, or an audio file uploaded from your device.
Style Persona
Recalls the vocals, style and broader character of a Suno song. Use it for a recurring generated project identity.
Verified Voice
Uses an authorized voice source and identity-verification step so new v5.5 songs can be generated with that Voice.

Correct route
Use Add Voice—not the General Upload Audio Button
Suno uses audio uploads for several different jobs. Uploading a file into your Library does not automatically mean you have started the Voice-verification workflow.
Open Add Voice
From Create, choose Add Voice and then Create Voice. If a Try Now prompt appears, it should open the same Voice dialog.
Select the source inside the dialog
Choose an eligible library song containing your voice, record into the microphone, or upload an existing file from your device.
Complete verification
Preview the source, choose the usable portion, select Use Voice, and read the displayed verification phrase aloud.
Why the distinction matters: the general Upload Audio feature brings source material into Suno for workflows such as Extend and Cover. A Voice must be created inside the dedicated Add Voice process so Suno can verify identity and collect the rights confirmation.

What Suno Needs From Your Voice Recording
Supported duration
Suno currently documents Voice uploads or recordings from 15 seconds to four minutes. You can then select the best two-minute portion.
Clean vocal identity
A cappella material generally gives the clearest result. Suno accepts files with backing music and attempts vocal isolation, but source separation can add uncertainty.
Consistent singer
The person reading the verification phrase should be the same person singing or speaking in the Voice source.
Rights confirmation
You must affirm that you have the rights to use the voice. Do not upload a public figure, collaborator or other person without the required authorization.
Recording checklist: quiet room, low echo, no television or traffic, clear lead vocal, stable volume, minimal processing and no competing singers.

Controlled retry
A Five-Step Verification Reset
- Close the failed dialog and reopen Create rather than stacking repeated attempts in an uncertain state.
- Use Add Voice and start a new Voice profile.
- Choose a clean source with one lead singer and little room noise, reverb or accompaniment.
- Preview the selected segment and confirm that the actual voice is obvious before proceeding.
- Read the new phrase clearly in the same natural voice, without performance effects.
Stop after a controlled retry still fails. Repeatedly processing the same unsuitable source rarely fixes the cause. Change the recording or take the exact message and account details to official support.

Try to bypass verification
Do not pitch-shift, splice phrases, impersonate the singer or search for a workaround that defeats identity controls.
Use someone else’s voice
A collaborator’s recording does not automatically grant permission to create a reusable Voice profile.
Confuse remastering with eligibility
Cleaning a file can improve clarity, but it cannot establish ownership or make restricted material authorized.
Preserve evidence
If Suno incorrectly flags material you own, retain the original recording, project files, stems, dates and any relevant rights documentation.

Contact Suno when the authorized source meets the documented requirements, you used the Add Voice dialog correctly, and a clean retry still fails.

What if verification succeeds but the result does not sound like me?
Confirm v5.5, improve the source recording, raise Audio Influence and simplify conflicting style instructions. Verification and resemblance are related but separate issues.
