Suno Studio (v5) — Complete Guide & Workflows
Suno Studio vs Song Editor, quick-start, upload-led builds, section editing, stems, sliders, troubleshooting, and early-access notes.

Last verified: September 24, 2025.
Quick-Start (5 minutes)
- Open Studio → New Project.
- Import a riff/voice note or pull in a Song Editor result.
- Draft a base idea (sliders at defaults).
- Lock Chorus: Remake chorus only (Weirdness ↓, Style ↑). Freeze when it lands.
- Rewrite Verses for clarity; keep arrangement lean.
- Extend 1–2 bars into/out of chorus for smooth transitions.
- Get Stems if you need external polish; otherwise export final audio.
Rule: troubleshoot in place; don’t re-roll the whole song.

Use this when… | Fast section edits, quick stems, broad access | Multitrack context, upload-led builds, stem swaps, arrangement lab |
*Audio Influence appears when an upload is present.
Core Capabilities (v5)
- Section editing on the waveform: remake, rewrite, extend, reorder, delete.
- Multi-stem export for separate parts (verify stem count/names in UI).
- Extended uploads to guide generation (verify length/size in UI).
- Creative sliders: Weirdness (~50% ≈ normal), Style Influence, Audio Influence (with uploads).
- Multitrack workspace in Studio; MIDI export availability can vary.
Studio Workflows (blueprints)
A) Upload-Led Song (featured vocal/riff)
- Import clean WAV (trim silence; minimal FX).
- Set Audio Influence 60–75 so the upload leads.
- Draft base idea; keep Weirdness near 50.
- Lock chorus (Remake only; Weirdness ↓, Style ↑).
- Rewrite verses for diction and space.
- Extend 1–2 bars for transitions; Export or Get Stems.
B) AI-First, Human Vocal Later
- Draft instrumental + guide vox.
- Get Stems.
- Mute AI lead; import human vocal.
- Remake Bridge only; keep chorus frozen.
- Export stems for final mix if needed.
C) Remix / Arrangement Lab
- Import full track; extract stems.
- Mute or replace drums/bass; try alternatives.
- Reorder sections; generate a new Bridge.
- Extend tail for a clean outro; export stems.
Section Tools — exact semantics
- Rewrite: keep role/intent; change phrasing/lyrics within the form.
- Remake: new musical idea for that section (respects prompt + sliders).
- Extend: append bars at the tail; existing audio unchanged.
- Reorder: move blocks on the timeline; content unchanged.
- Delete: remove region; crossfades handled by engine.
Slider Guidance (per section)
Defaults
- Weirdness: Safe → Chaos. ~50% ≈ normal baseline.
- Style Influence: Loose → Strong adherence to style.
- Audio Influence: appears with uploads; strength of upload’s control.
Practical ranges
- Chorus (radio-safe): Weirdness 35–45, Style 70–85
- Verse (lyric-first): Weirdness 40–55, Style 55–70
- Bridge (novelty): Weirdness 55–70, Style 45–60
- With uploads: Audio 60–75 (lead) / 20–40 (texture)
Change one slider at a time. Compare 20–30 s regions. Keep chorus conservative.
Stem Strategy
- Solo, then decide: keep, mute, or replace. Avoid micro-mixing in Studio.
- If it’s an arrangement issue (too many mids), fix in Suno, then export.
- If it’s a tone/EQ issue, export stems and finish in a DAW.
- Use consistent sample rate/bit depth across exports (match UI settings).
Troubleshooting (Studio-specific)
Symptom | Likely cause | In-Studio fix | If still needed |
---|---|---|---|
Hook inconsistent | Weirdness too high in chorus | Remake chorus; Weirdness ↓, Style ↑; freeze it | Edit neighbors only; export stems |
Verse crowded | Too many midrange parts | Rewrite verse; remove 1–2 mid tags | Lower mid stems later in DAW |
Hard cuts | Zero-tail sections | Extend exits 1–2 bars | Add short fades post-export |
Upload ignored | Audio Influence too low | Raise Audio Influence; mark upload “featured” | Trim/denoise upload |
Timing drift | BPM/key unclear | Add BPM/key; Remake only the off section | Align stems in DAW if needed |
