AIMD by ONCE for AI Music in 2026: $2 Distribution, AI Disclosure & Creator Fit

AIMD by ONCE for AI Music in 2026

AIMD is worth watching because it is not merely a traditional distributor adding an AI policy. It is positioning the release workflow itself around AI music, including direct Suno import and AI-specific disclosure.

JR quick read

Why it is interesting: AIMD currently markets a one-time $2 fee per AI release, 100% of streaming royalties to the artist, delivery to Spotify, Apple Music and 20+ stores, and a browser extension designed to import a finished Suno track directly into distribution.

Why I would still test carefully: AIMD is newer and its public claims come primarily from AIMD itself. That does not make them false, but it means I would verify the exact destinations and support workflow before moving an important catalogue.

What AIMD currently says you get

$2 per AI release

AIMD currently advertises a one-time $2 fee for an AI release, with no subscription and no revenue share.

20+ stores

AIMD currently names Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Tidal, Deezer, Pandora and SoundCloud among its destinations and describes the network as 20+ stores.

ISRC and UPC included

AIMD says it generates the ISRC and UPC required for the release workflow.

AI disclosure metadata

AIMD says it scans provenance and attaches AI disclosure metadata expected by DSPs before delivery.

The strongest differentiator: direct Suno import

AIMD’s browser extension is built to read a finished Suno song page and pre-fill the release. According to AIMD, it can bring across the audio file, cover art, song title, artist name, lyrics and generation-model information, while automatically creating ISRC and UPC identifiers.

AIMD says the extension currently runs through the Chrome Web Store on Chromium-based browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc. Its public extension page says Safari and Firefox support are on separate rollout paths, so creators should check current browser availability rather than assume universal support.

Important: AIMD currently advertises 24–72 hour delivery through the extension workflow. Treat that as AIMD’s stated delivery target, not a guarantee that every DSP will make the release publicly available within that window.

AI-native does not remove the normal rights questions

A smoother upload path does not change the underlying release questions: do you have commercial permission for the generated output, did you upload any protected source material, are the voice and likeness elements authorized, and are the downstream stores willing to accept the release?

The value of AIMD is operational convenience. It does not eliminate the need for a creator record.

Where AIMD may fit

Creator situation Practical read
Occasional Suno singles The one-time per-release model is easy to understand and the direct import workflow can reduce admin work.
Fully AI-generated release AIMD is explicitly designed for this category, but the creator still needs valid rights and destination compliance.
High-volume catalogue Do the math. A per-release price can remain attractive at modest volume, while an annual unlimited plan may become cheaper at higher volume.
Creator who needs very broad store coverage Compare carefully. AIMD currently advertises 20+ stores, while larger legacy distributors may advertise a wider network.
Creator who values long operating history AIMD is newer, so support history and long-term catalogue continuity deserve extra due diligence.

What I would verify before making AIMD the home of a serious catalogue

  • The current full DSP list, not only the headline stores.
  • What happens when you need to edit metadata after delivery.
  • How takedowns, replacements and re-releases are handled.
  • How support works when a DSP rejects or delays a release.
  • Whether Content ID, UGC monetization or neighbouring-rights services are included, optional or unavailable.
  • What happens to existing releases if pricing or the service model changes.
  • The current terms for the Artist Compensation Fund and how the company describes its operation.

JR position: AIMD deserves a place in the distributor map because it is testing an AI-native distribution model. The strongest reason to consider it is workflow simplicity, not merely the $2 headline price.

Official sources

AIMD is a newer service. Pricing, delivery claims, store count, extension availability and feature support are time-sensitive and should be checked before a valuable release.
