The level records are not extra homework. Carry forward, copy or summarize the decisions you already made in the lessons. You do not need to rewrite everything from scratch.
Level 1 gate
You can explain what you wanted, why one version won, what problem you diagnosed and whether your revision helped.
Level 2 · Build the Song
Prerequisite: Level 1 completed. Outcome: make more intentional musical decisions about reference, sound, structure and energy.
Learn from a reference without treating it as something to copy.
Lesson 5 →Define a usable musical lane through groove, rhythm section, sound and foreground.
Lesson 6 →Map the song and test one structural decision.
Lesson 7 →Create intentional section contrast without simply making everything louder.
Lesson 8 →Level 2 gate
You can describe what you learned from a reference, define your sound through musical traits, give retained sections jobs and prove one contrast decision.
Level 3 · Finish the Work
Prerequisite: a Level 2 keeper and Song Build Map. Outcome: finish the current project responsibly instead of endlessly generating.
Find the most important remaining blocker, protect the keeper and make the smallest useful repair.

You can direct the idea, build the music, diagnose a blocker, quality-check the complete version, document how it was made and make a responsible next-use decision. Public posting is optional.
If your project uses lyrics
Lyrics remain an optional branch. Instrumental creators can complete this entire path without being forced through songwriting. A youth lyric path should be added only when it creates a distinct learner outcome rather than duplicating the existing JR songwriting system.
