DO THE WORK

  1. Listen once for song impact only: opening, pacing, emotional arc, hook, ending.
  2. Listen for vocal presentation: intelligibility, tone, consistency, pronunciation, artifacts and distracting synthetic moments.
  3. Listen for production defects: clicks, pops, noise, abrupt edits, bad fades, pumping, harshness, masking or obvious generation artifacts.
  4. Check translation on at least headphones and another ordinary playback system.
  5. Compare against a relevant professional reference for balance and impact, not imitation.
