🎮 Forgotten Hands: Hogwarts Mystery – Game Master Edition
Developed for: The Vault of Forgotten Echoes
Narrative RPG Scenario | Canon-Compliant Reconstruction | GM Use Only

📘 Game Premise

The year is 1977–78. Tensions are rising within Hogwarts as the First Wizarding War grows outside its walls. Players assume the roles of upper-year students tasked with investigating a suspected memory manipulation incident involving a missing artifact, a sealed corridor, and the possible involvement of a non-magical ally known only as Subject 77-Black.

This session takes place within a secured Room of Requirement scenario crafted for internal research students participating in a Ministry-sanctioned historical simulation.

🎭 Character Roles

  • Historian (Player 1): Leads the memory review process; tasked with linking evidence to historical events

  • Archivist (Player 2): Manages physical items (maps, documents, relics); responsible for magical artifact interpretation

  • Watcher (Player 3): Keeps track of changing room conditions and any inconsistencies in the environment

  • Suspect (Player 4): One player is assigned a private objective—either to conceal or recover information connected to Subject 77-Black. Role is randomly assigned at start.

Each character has access to unique clues and must collaborate, deceive, or reveal to reach the end.

🧠 Canon Constraints & Magical Mechanics

  • No invented spell systems allowed

  • All memory access is through supervised Pensieve sequences or approved logs

  • The Room of Requirement shifts to reveal known archival anomalies based on in-game choices

  • Clue materials include:

    • Replica Hogwarts patrol reports

    • Redacted memory extracts

    • Fragmented portrait testimonies

    • Reconstructed common room bulletins

🧩 Session Progression

  1. Setup Phase

    • GM introduces timeline and goals

    • Each player receives a sealed briefing packet

  2. Exploration Phase

    • Players explore three locations: Corridor 3-B, the Room of Requirement, and the Tapestry Wing

    • Clues must be cross-referenced across roles

  3. The Convergence

    • Players enter a memory review sequence via Room of Requirement simulation

    • Evidence aligns (or conflicts) with known records

  4. Final Revelation

    • Players must submit a collaborative report… or someone may act alone

    • Suspect may choose to reveal or remain hidden

📎 Canon Anchors for Immersion

  • Sirius Black quote (Ref ID: 77SB-MOONY-RED)

  • Patrol note: "Corridor 3-B sealed—no cause filed"

  • Room of Requirement behavior (based on observed needs)

  • Arabella Figg’s known later recognition as a non-magical ally

🔐 GM Notes

  • Use player tension to emphasize the ethics of omission, memory, and who gets remembered

  • The goal is not to solve, but to reveal what each character believes is worth preserving

  • Encourage players to document divergent outcomes

  • Optional twist: a portrait observes the game from the wall but never speaks—unless asked the right question

🎮 Designed for The Vault of Forgotten Echoes

This game supports the broader Jack Righteous Universe canon arc by challenging players to explore forgotten narratives, ethical memory use, and non-linear historical interpretation.

The truth, as always, is not what’s written—it’s what survives.
