From Dry Run to Production

Dry Run #1 reduced uncertainty. Production Run #2 turns what we learned into footage intended for the final WAR COMES edit.

This is also a live Creator Labs example of something bigger than AI video: how a creator carries decisions from Sound → Voice → Brand → World → Visual Production → Edit.

Production rule: controlled testing is not the destination. Test only long enough to reduce the uncertainty that blocks a creative decision. Once the direction is clear enough, move into production.
Production story brief

What WAR COMES is building toward

The current campaign is a teaser for Jack Righteous Act Four, set in Empire City in 2030—a JR Universe city inspired by New York without being New York itself. Jack Righteous is a freedom fighter and AI artist. The immediate conflict is Jack confronting the Four Horsemen, with War as the first and central threat in this sequence.

The current visual mode is strong cinematic realism, with restrained digital and spiritual signals occupying the same world. That is the visual mode for this campaign—not yet the permanent visual canon of the JR Universe.

Creative tension: the digital and spiritual can overlap without the teaser explaining where one ends and the other begins.
Canon control

Separate what is locked from what is still becoming.

Locked for this production

What we can build around now

  • Empire City, 2030.
  • Jack Righteous is a peace-first freedom fighter and AI artist.
  • War is the immediate Horseman focus and arrives with the red horse.
  • Jack stands his ground rather than becoming a generic action hero.
  • Lion currently represents the darker war-response aspect of Jack.
  • Digital and spiritual elements may coexist in the visual language.
  • This campaign uses cinematic realism.
Intentionally unresolved

What we do not need to force yet

  • Whether Jack is literally AI, augmented, human, or simply native to an AI-normalized world.
  • Whether Lion ultimately becomes psychological, spiritual, mythic, a separate being, an alter identity, or some combination.
  • How normalized AI is throughout Empire City.
  • Whether cinematic realism, animation, puppetry or another medium becomes the permanent JR Universe style.
Creator Lab lesson: unresolved canon is not automatically a problem. Track it deliberately. Lock only what the current creative decision requires and preserve room for the world to develop.
Jack + Lion

Peace first. War when peace is no longer enough.

The working relationship for this production is simple: Jack Righteous stands for peace first, while Lion represents the war that answers when peace is no longer enough. That gives the song's calls to Lion and War meaning without forcing the teaser to explain the entire internal mythology.

Earlier ideas for Lion explored a more separate, darker character. The current production does not need to resolve that history into final canon. What matters now is that Jack experiences an internal division: the peace-first self and a darker war-response self.

Element Reveal policy for this teaser
Jack Visible. Grounded, hooded, face hidden, resolute. Freedom fighter and witness—not superhero spectacle.
War Increasingly visible as the sequence earns the red-horse reveal.
Lion Implied. The audience may feel a second, more dangerous energy before they understand what it is.

Lion does not need a full second-character reveal in Production Run #2. A shadow change, symbolic cue, energy shift, framing change or other restrained signal can become evidence later if the edit calls for it.

Creator development

The visual has to carry the work already done upstream.

What we are actually solving next

Project jobBuild footage intended for the final 1:44 WAR COMES teaser while preserving useful material for the first 0:44 of the main song.
Current worldEmpire City, 2030. Cinematic realism with restrained digital and spiritual overlap.
Protected soundBass pressure, dub space, half-time movement, militant restraint and large negative space.
Protected voicePeace-first resolve, warning and conviction. Jack does not perform macho aggression.
Protected brandJack is the freedom fighter who chooses peace first. Lion is the darker war-response presence, currently implied rather than decoded.
Protected storyWar is the first Horseman focus. Red horse reveal must be earned. The wider Four Horsemen remain available for escalation.
Current keeperDry Run 01-C is the approved opening-world direction until the actual timeline proves whether the clip itself locks.
Next production problemIntroduce Jack for “Mi nah run” without breaking world continuity, revealing War early, or turning Jack into an action hero.
One primary variableCharacter presence and reference consistency. Keep the approved world as stable as practical.
Lion ruleDo not create a separate Lion character for this shot. Lion remains subtext / internal tension.
Stop ruleOnce a candidate clearly satisfies the shot assignment and continuity gate, stop generating and move forward.
Clip 2 assignment

Shot Card: introduce Jack

Shot IDWC_R2_C02_A_JackRef_v01
Narrative jobReveal that someone is standing inside the warning world: Jack Righteous, the freedom fighter who does not run.
Primary audio jobSupport the teaser's rising warning pressure without over-explaining the character.
Main-song jobLand with “Mi nah run.”
Start stateThe approved WAR COMES environment remains dominant.
End stateJack's presence is established. War is still protected. Lion is still only felt.
Character rulesHooded, face hidden, physical, grounded, resolute, cinematic. Freedom-fighter energy without superhero posing.
SuccessThe viewer reads conviction and mystery. The shot feels spiritually and digitally connected to Empire City, but neither layer becomes generic fantasy or cyberpunk decoration.
Reject ifJack looks like a fantasy warrior, the world changes substantially, War appears too clearly, Lion becomes a literal second character, or the motion fights the song's restraint.
Reveal budget

Spend story only when the music earns it.

Stage Audience may learn Still protected
1 · Warning world Something is coming; a horse may barely exist in haze. Jack, rider identity, red horse, Lion explanation, wider Horsemen.
2 · Jack stands A freedom fighter is present and does not run. Full War reveal; Lion remains subtext.
3 · One rider A single mounted threat becomes readable. Full red-horse detail and wider apocalypse.
4 · Red horse The horse becomes unmistakably red and dominant. Wider Four Horsemen escalation.
5 · War The first major confrontation is earned. Larger Act Four mythology and unresolved Lion truth.
Production Run #2 Gate

Do not spend the next generation until this is true.

  1. We know the shot's job: introduce Jack for “Mi nah run.”
  2. The approved Dry Run #1 world direction is available as the continuity anchor.
  3. The Jack reference still is approved: hooded, face hidden, grounded, peace-first freedom fighter.
  4. War remains protected for later reveal.
  5. Lion remains implied rather than rendered as a separate character.
  6. The only primary variable is character presence / consistency.
  7. Success and rejection criteria are written before generation.
  8. The file will use the WC_R2 naming convention and be recorded rather than overwritten.
Production Run #2 sentence: Keep the approved WAR COMES world fixed and introduce Jack Righteous for “Mi nah run,” preserving his peace-first freedom-fighter identity while War remains ahead of him and Lion remains inside the tension rather than fully revealed.
What Run #2 must deliver

We are producing assets now, not testing forever.

  • Clip 1: locked or deliberately replaced after timeline review.
  • Jack reference: approved canonical reference for this campaign.
  • Clip 2: locked introduction for “Mi nah run.”
  • Continuity: Empire City world and Jack rules confirmed for subsequent shots.
  • Edit placement: exact teaser placement and main-song reuse classification recorded.
  • Next handoff: a clean brief for “One rider.”
Creator Lab takeaway: you do not need every future answer before you create. You need enough clarity to make the next decision without accidentally closing doors you still want open.
Creator Labs pathway

WAR COMES is where the creator-development layers meet.

The purpose of documenting this publicly is not to hand creators a Leonardo prompt to copy. It is to show the decision process: Sound informs Voice. Voice informs Brand. Brand establishes what the World must preserve. Visual production expresses those decisions. Editing proves whether they work together.
