Prepare Artist Profiles & Platform Assets
WHERE YOU ARE: Distribution is in motion. Your job is to make sure the release lands on the right identity and that any platform surface you can control is ready for the attention you are asking for.
YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE
- Distribution Submission Record.
- Artist/project bio, cover and visual source assets.
- Existing artist profile links where applicable.
THE DECISION
Which platform surfaces can you legitimately access before or around release, and what minimum updates will make them accurate and coherent?
DO THE WORK
- Verify the correct Spotify artist mapping and access Spotify for Artists when eligible. Confirm bio, image and relevant profile presentation rather than assuming distribution alone completes the profile.
- Prepare the unreleased track for Spotify editorial pitching if it appears in Spotify for Artists and is eligible; the pitch itself is completed in the next node.
- Claim or update Apple Music for Artists when eligible. A brand-new artist may need music live before the page can be claimed, so record that as a timed post-release action rather than a failure.
- Verify the YouTube channel that represents the artist. Do not treat Official Artist Channel status as universally available before the release; record eligibility and the path to request it when applicable.
- Prepare accurate lyrics for services/workflows you actually use.
- Create a Spotify Canvas only if it adds useful visual recognition. It is optional, not evidence of professionalism by itself.
- If you plan a manual YouTube upload or visualizer, review the current synthetic/altered-content disclosure requirements before publishing.

SAVE THIS
Create the Platform Readiness Record: verified artist URLs, access/claim status, profile updates completed, lyrics status, Spotify pitch eligibility, Canvas decision, YouTube/OAC status and any timed post-release action.
DO NOT ADVANCE IF
- You know the release is mapped to the wrong artist.
- A profile identity conflicts with the artist/project package.
- You are claiming a platform feature or artist status you do not actually have.
- A required manual-upload disclosure decision is being ignored.
READY TO CONTINUE WHEN
The important artist surfaces are verified or have a documented timing dependency, and no known mapping error is being left for release day.
