In March 2024, I began a path I never thought possible. Using AI tools, I started crafting music that resonated deeply with my soul and, it turns out, with thousands of others. My reggae track "Sanctuary," created with SUNO AI V4, is more than just a song—it’s a symbol of what’s possible when technology and purpose meet. In just one week, it achieved over 1,000 plays, becoming my most successful release to date. For me, "Sanctuary" represented a bold step forward. Its lyrics were written by me, Gary Whittaker, in a style I’ve been developing for months but have felt deeply for decades. This style has roots in my childhood, shaped under the shadow of domestic violence and the resilience it fostered. The full composition of "Sanctuary" was completed 100% with SUNO AI, which means it is not eligible for full copyright at this time. However, this innovative process has opened up new avenues for collaboration.

With over 25 years of experience working with emerging technologies, I knew when success was on the horizon. I had a strong sense that "Sanctuary" would be the track to break through. That conviction led me to start writing From Text to Track before the song’s official release. The book was published shortly after "Sanctuary" landed on Spotify, marking a significant milestone in my career.

"Sanctuary" is now officially the first song for my upcoming album, Holy Smokes!. Additionally, it will be included in another album titled Jack Righteous: Origins. This second album will delve into the identity of Jack Righteous as a character and explore where I want to take this project. Ultimately, my vision is to bring this journey to life on Broadway—a dream I’ve held since childhood. A Broadway show about God that I created once felt like a fantasy, but now it feels dreamworthy again. This is nothing short of a miracle, and I believe it’s a repeatable one, not just for me but for others as well.
