Voices
Your vocal identity
Create songs using a verified model of your own voice. Suno positions this as the evolution beyond Personas for vocal identity.

Available to all users, My Taste can influence Style augmentation based on listening and creation preferences.
Audio Uploads
Upload audio when your own source material should anchor the result
Audio Upload is useful when the important creative information already exists as sound: a hummed melody, chord idea, groove, field recording, demo, instrumental sketch or a longer original song.
- Choose source audio you have the right to use. Do not treat upload capability as permission to upload a commercial recording.
- Decide what the source is contributing. Melody? Rhythm? Performance? Harmony? Texture? A full arrangement?
- Keep the new production direction separate. Tell Suno what should change rather than expecting the upload to answer every production decision.
- Use the appropriate transformation. Extend when you need more music after the source; Cover when the song should be reinterpreted; Studio when you need timeline-level work.
- Compare against the source. Judge what was preserved, what drifted and whether that drift helped.
Voices
Use Voices when the vocal identity—not just the genre—is the production problem
Suno currently allows a Voice source from a library song, a real-time recording or an uploaded file. Its help documentation says the input can run from 15 seconds to 4 minutes, from which you select the strongest portion; clean acapella tends to give the clearest source.
Good use
You wrote a song or built an arrangement and want to hear it through your own verified vocal identity before deciding how to record, revise or release it.
Wrong assumption
A Voice model does not guarantee every phrase will sound exactly like a live performance, and it does not give permission to reproduce another person’s identity.
Suno’s current Voices FAQ also notes that v5.5 must be selected for the new Voices feature and suggests Audio Influence as one troubleshooting control when the result does not resemble the source closely enough.

Suno says Pro and Premier users can create up to three Custom Models and can begin with as few as six owned tracks. Custom Models are private. My Taste is available to all users and can be edited or disabled.

Seven decisions from idea to usable song
- Define the creative brief. Name the emotional job, audience, sound direction, voice role and must-keep idea before generating.
- Choose your strongest input. Text direction, your own audio, your Voice, a Custom Model—or a deliberate combination. Do not add every personalization layer automatically.
- Generate enough to compare, not enough to hide the decision. Keep versions purposeful.
- Diagnose the winner. Is the problem global, local, vocal, structural, lyrical or sonic?
- Use the smallest appropriate revision tool. Cover for global transformation, Song Editor for local repair, Extend for more structure, Remaster for sonic polish, Studio for deeper production.
- Document human choices and source material. Save lyrics, edits, original recordings, prompts/briefs, selected versions and permissions.
- Check release rights separately. Confirm the account context under which the song was made, your source rights and the requirements of the distributor/platform you plan to use.
