This page originally curated two 2025 demo videos about Add Vocals, stem-based rebuilding and “Spark from Playlist.” Those videos reflected the interface of their time. The useful production ideas survived, but current instruction belongs in V6, Studio 2.0 and Remix & Edit.
The bigger shift was not the buttons
v4.5+ mattered because Suno was moving beyond “type a prompt and accept the result.” Creators could increasingly bring material in, separate it, add around it and revise an existing song. That production mindset is now much more developed in V6 and Studio 2.0.
The durable rule: start with the part worth protecting, name the production job, and make the smallest useful intervention before regenerating the whole song.
Three ideas from the old page that still matter
Add Vocals
Add Vocals remains a current Suno workflow for turning an instrumental into a fuller song using lyrics and generated vocals. Treat it as a production handoff: protect the instrumental identity, define the vocal job, compare versions and keep only the take that improves the song.

The old demos used stem extraction as a repair and rebuilding technique. That principle is even more relevant now: current Suno workflows let you separate material, work with stems and continue inside Studio instead of treating every generation as a finished file.

The old page called out “Spark from Playlist.” I am not treating that 2025 feature name as current instruction. In V6, Suno supports broader reference-driven creation, including songs, playlists, audio uploads and other inputs in Simple Mode. The idea survived; the workflow changed.

These tools are most useful when you stop asking “what feature should I try?” and start asking “what part of this song is already right, and what exactly needs to change?”
- If the instrumental is right but the song needs a voice, test Add Vocals.
- If one element is muddy, weak or competing, consider a stem-based repair.
- If you need inspiration from existing material, use references deliberately—but separate creative reference from copying someone else’s protected expression or identity.
- If most of the song already works, edit the keeper before rebuilding everything.
