Catluaba: Let the Music Speak — The Songwriter Behind the Guitar and the AI

Jack Righteous / Creator Spotlight / First Look

LET THE
MUSIC
SPEAK.

Catluaba wants the songs to be recognized before the face behind them. The remarkable part isn't simply using AI—it's knowing when to use it, and when a guitar and a voice are enough.

The artist / 01

What happens when a songwriter wants the music—not the musician's face—to become the identity?

Independent artist Catluaba describes an ambition to be a kind of “Banksy of music”: largely unseen, but recognizable through the work. The comparison is about keeping attention on the art, not a claim of similar stature or fame.

Behind that idea is an artist who plays guitar, composes music, writes lyrics and sometimes sings. Acoustic guitar and singer-songwriter traditions sit alongside rock, pop, alternative sounds and experiments with AI-assisted production. The goal is not simply to produce tracks faster, but to build a recognizable catalogue that can connect with listeners beyond any one platform.

Let the art do the talking—even when the tools and arrangements change.
The idea at the heart of Catluaba

There's an important tension in that approach. An anonymous creator still needs an identifiable artistic voice. For Catluaba, the challenge is to make the thread between an exposed acoustic performance and an electronically reshaped song audible to listeners.

The creative distinction / 02

THE GUITAR CAME FIRST.

Catluaba does not describe every release as AI-generated. In some songs, the artist writes, plays and sings before involving Suno in a later production step. Other recordings remain anchored in the original guitar-and-voice performance, with no Suno involved.

That difference matters. A recording made with AI and a recording made without it can still share the same songwriter's sensibility. The connecting decisions—lyrics, melody, phrasing, emotional direction and final selection—deserve as much attention as the software.

Consider two contrasting songs: Solamente, where Catluaba reports original writing and performance followed by Suno-assisted work, and Baby, an intentionally direct acoustic song made without Suno.

Listen first / 03

TWO SONGS. TWO APPROACHES.

These two listening entry points show why the story is about creative choices, not a single technology.

Solamente

Catluaba says the music and lyrics were written personally, with the artist also playing guitar and singing before a subsequent Suno-assisted step. The exact processing chain has not been described in detail.

Baby

Acoustic guitar and voice, intentionally rough-edged. Catluaba calls it a favourite and describes its subject as love rediscovered rather than love lost. Suno was not used.

Four tracks / 04

FOUR WINDOWS INTO THE SAME CREATOR.

Catluaba identified four songs that reveal different parts of the project. They should not all be treated as if they were made with the same AI workflow.

01 / Writing & performance

Solamente

Music, lyrics, guitar and voice came from Catluaba, followed by an artist-described Suno production step.

02 / Blending worlds

Due

An experiment combining an electronic idea with an acoustic one, showing an interest in arrangements that cross familiar boundaries.

03 / Guitar intimacy

Dicevi tu

Acoustic guitar takes the foreground. Catluaba values the direct, intimate connection it can create with a listener.

04 / No AI required

Baby

A raw guitar-and-vocal song about love found again. Catluaba specifically says this recording did not use Suno.

Hearing these side by side offers a way to ask a more meaningful question than “Is this AI music?”: what makes a Catluaba song recognizable?

Beyond the four songs / 05

AN INDEPENDENT CATALOGUE TAKES SHAPE.

The four songs are only a starting point. Public streaming listings also include the 2025 Four EP, alongside individual tracks such as Dicevi tu, Due and Solamente. Baby appears as a 2026 single. The broader catalogue shows that Catluaba is building a sustained project rather than presenting an isolated experiment.

In 2026, the release Internally brought another expression of that acoustic-and-electronic direction. Italian promotional coverage described an Evening version built with a blend of acoustic and electronic elements.

#38

Internally on Classifica Indie

Internally entered Italy's Classifica Indie Top 100 listing on July 13, 2026 at No. 38. The October 5 chart still listed it, marking 13 chart weeks. This is a chart-listing milestone—not a claim about sales, streaming totals or mainstream chart success.

What remains most distinctive is the approach: Catluaba has kept the songwriting and personal musical decisions at the centre, while exploring different ways of presenting the songs.

The creative challenge / 06

CAN THE MUSIC BECOME THE BRAND?

Choosing not to show a face can give a project a compelling identity, but mystery alone is not enough. A listener needs something to remember: a phrase, a melodic signature, the grain of an acoustic performance, the emotional honesty of a lyric, or a contrast between the organic and the digital.

For Catluaba, the most promising next step is not necessarily more releases. It may be making the connections between existing songs easier to hear and discover. New listeners should be able to understand both sides of the project: the songwriter with a guitar, and the producer willing to reshape that material when the song calls for it.

01

Lead with the musical promise

Show what ties the acoustic, pop, alternative and electronic experiments together.

02

Make the human decisions visible

Explain where a recording began, what was performed, what was transformed and why a final version was chosen.

03

Give first-time listeners a path

Let a new visitor hear a purely acoustic recording, an AI-assisted production and a more experimental arrangement without getting lost in the catalogue.

That is the story beneath the anonymity: a creator trying to keep the identity of the music intact while changing the methods used to bring it into the world.
