Uber Eats Halloween Safety: Parking, Crowds, Costumes & Night Deliveries
The goal on Halloween is not to squeeze one more delivery out of a risky situation. It is to finish the night safely and still know whether the work made sense.
Expect more pedestrians than usual
Uber's own Canadian driver safety guidance tells drivers to watch carefully for pedestrians and cyclists, especially during pickups, drop-offs and night driving. Halloween makes that advice even more important because children, costumes and dark residential streets can reduce visibility.

Do not let parking pressure make the decision for you
If a restaurant or apartment has no safe legal stopping point, do not treat double parking or blocking traffic as part of the job. Plan for a short walk when needed or reconsider the pickup/drop-off if the situation is unsafe.
Slow down in residential zones
Costumes can limit a child's peripheral vision. Dark clothing can make people harder to see. Driveways and parked vehicles can hide pedestrians until the last second. Give yourself more stopping time.
Set personal boundaries
You do not need to keep chasing orders because the app is busy. If weather, fatigue, crowds or road behaviour make you uncomfortable, end the shift. Safety is part of the profitability calculation.
Apartment and building access
Keep your vehicle secure, avoid leaving valuables visible and use in-app communication when building access is unclear. Do not improvise unsafe entry or parking just to save a minute.
If you decide delivery fits your plan
Check the current requirements and offer only after you have decided the conditions are safe and the work makes sense for you.
