How to Use the AI Artist & Creator Identity Builder

This is not a universal “start here before you create” worksheet. Use it after you have completed at least one creator cycle and something is worth continuing. Its job is to help you decide what should remain recognizable as you create more.

Step 1 · Start With What Already Earned Another Round

Choose one real piece, prototype, character, song, story, visual direction or creator idea that survived your first test. Do not invent an identity in the abstract. Build from evidence in work you have already made.

• What worked?
• What felt like you?
• What do you want to repeat?
• What would you refuse to lose in the next version?

Step 2 · Fill the Identity Core

Step 3 · Define Recognition, Not Rigidity

Step 4 · Do the Three-Idea Test

1. A: test the profile against something you already made.
2. B: test it against what you want to make next.
3. C: test it against something deliberately different that might still belong.

If only one fits, you probably have a project brief. If all three fit too easily, the identity may be too vague.

Operator decision: KEEP → ADJUST → SIMPLIFY → TEST AGAIN.

Step 5 · Use AI as a Challenger, Not the Owner

Ask AI to identify contradictions, compare versions, show which traits are generic, or test whether your boundaries actually separate what belongs from what does not. Then make the decision yourself.

Useful prompt: “Review this identity profile against these three ideas. Show me which traits are consistently supported, which are assumptions, and which are too broad to be useful. Do not rewrite it until I approve the diagnosis.”

Step 6 · Action It Now

Do not finish the workbook and immediately open another worksheet. Apply the completed profile to one real next asset.

For music, use it to judge whether a new song still belongs to the artist. For a story, use it to test whether a new scene or character still belongs to the world. For an app/game, use it to judge whether the interaction still feels like the same project. For visual work, use it to decide which recurring elements are recognition and which are decoration.
