Discovery & Conversion

The owned home exists. Module 11 connects real audience needs to useful entry points and useful next steps. Discovery is broader than SEO. Conversion is broader than purchase.

THE PRINCIPLE

Help the right person take the next useful step—not the biggest available step.

A visitor may need to listen, read, understand, compare, subscribe, contact you, join, buy, book or simply return later. Good Brand routing matches the action to the relationship and the page job instead of forcing every visit toward a sale.

Visitor journey:

ARRIVE → UNDERSTAND → TRUST → CONTINUE → RETURN

Six routing decisions

1 · DISCOVERY INTENT

Why would this person arrive?

Map real questions, problems, project names, topics, recommendations, social referrals, direct links and other plausible entry reasons. Separate evidence from guesses.

2 · CONTENT ROUTES

Give each intent a useful landing point.

A strong article, hub, catalog page, tool page, About page or landing page should answer the entry question and then connect to the larger system.

3 · PAGE CLARITY

Make orientation fast.

The visitor should understand what the page is, who it serves, why it matters and what they can do next without scrolling through a wall of unrelated information.

4 · CTA FIT

Match the action to the relationship.

Read next, hear the song, see the guide, join the newsletter, contact, book, buy or apply can all be valid. The CTA should solve the next problem rather than expose the entire offer menu.

5 · OWNED RETURN PATH

Make continuation possible beyond rented reach.

Where appropriate, give people a lawful direct way to return—email/newsletter, account, bookmarked hub, RSS or another durable owned relationship.

6 · MEASUREMENT BASELINE

Decide what you will observe before optimizing.

Choose a small set of signals tied to the route: visits, entry source, clicks, sign-ups, inquiries, bookings, purchases, return behavior or another meaningful outcome. Do not invent a benchmark before you have data.

Keep Module 11 inside its boundary.

Module 10 built the environment.

Do not redesign the whole site every time discovery exposes a weak route. Fix the page or route that failed unless the evidence shows a structural problem.

Module 12 proves the live version.

Do not turn planning into permanent optimization. Module 11 defines the journeys and baseline; Module 12 launches and verifies them in the real world.

GPT COMPANION · MODULE 11

Use GPT to pressure-test routes and assumptions—not to manufacture demand or analytics.

Give GPT actual audience questions, search-console/search data when available, page copy, navigation and CTA destinations. Ask it to separate evidence from hypothesis, cluster intent, identify dead ends, compare page promise to CTA and suggest what should be measured.

Useful starting request: “Use only the audience, search and page evidence I provide. Separate evidence from hypothesis. Map likely entry intents to these pages, identify dead ends or mismatched CTAs, and recommend a minimal measurement baseline. Do not invent traffic, search demand, conversion rates or customer behavior.”

Keep human: audience judgment, live analytics interpretation, CTA decisions, consent/compliance, commercial claims and final route priorities. GPT can find structural weaknesses; it cannot create audience behavior.

Module 11 LEARN is complete when…

  • You can name the main reasons the intended audience would arrive.
  • Each important intent has a suitable entry or landing route.
  • Core pages orient the visitor quickly and lead to one relevant next step.
  • You have at least one owned return path where the project requires one.
  • You have chosen a small measurement baseline without pretending early assumptions are validated.

JR Junction · Brand Hypothesis + Measurement Evidence

Discovery strategy is a hypothesis until real people and real systems produce evidence.

Where you are

The home exists and has intended routes. You are deciding how people might arrive, continue and return.

What you must contribute

Choose the entry intents, page-to-intent matches, CTAs, owned return path and measurement baseline.

Evidence to keep

Search/audience source evidence, route map, CTA destinations, analytics configuration notes, baseline screenshots or exports and assumptions still awaiting testing.

What this can support

Movement from BRAND — DEVELOPING toward a testable Brand system and an operating measurement baseline.

What this does not prove

Keyword lists, AI personas, SEO scores and proposed CTAs do not prove demand, ranking, conversion, retention or commercial readiness.

Next human-control step

If the routes and baseline are clear, move to Module 12 and expose the system to real use.

Module 12 · EXECUTE — Launch the Home

Stop planning the route and prove the live version: publish, verify, expose it to real use and preserve the evidence Stage 4 will operate from.
