Final Pre-Release QA & Baseline Metrics
WHERE YOU ARE: The release has been submitted, artist surfaces are prepared, the audience path exists and launch assets are ready. Before release day, verify the operation and record where you are starting.
YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE
- Distribution Submission Record.
- Platform Readiness Record.
- Discovery & Audience Path Record.
- Launch Asset & Outreach Calendar.
THE DECISION
Is this release operation Green enough to go live, and what baseline will allow you to distinguish actual post-release change from memory?
DO THE WORK
- Confirm distributor delivery/status and target release date.
- Recheck artist mapping wherever you can verify it.
- Confirm Spotify editorial pitch status if the track was eligible and pitching was part of the plan.
- Test the canonical pre-save/release link and owned-audience destination on mobile.
- Confirm launch assets are accessible, correctly titled and point to the intended destination.
- Record pre-release baseline metrics that matter to your plan: followers/subscribers, email/community size, recent content norms, existing monthly listeners or other relevant starting data. Use zero when zero is the honest baseline.
- Run one final fake-stream/guaranteed-playlist check on every paid promotional commitment.
- Classify unresolved deployment issues Red, Yellow or Green.
SAVE THIS
Create the Pre-Release Baseline & Deployment Gate Record: date/time of check, delivery status, verified mappings/links, pitch status, starting metrics, open Yellow items and final Green/Yellow/Red decision.
DO NOT ADVANCE IF
- A Red deployment issue remains unresolved.
- You have no baseline evidence and intend to judge success later from memory.
- Your primary release link or artist mapping is knowingly wrong.
- You have paid for prohibited/fake streaming activity and have not stopped the campaign.
READY TO CONTINUE WHEN
The release operation is Green, the starting evidence is saved and release day can be treated as the beginning of measurement—not the end of the project.
PHASE 3 COMPLETE
You now have a Live Release Operation.
Phase 4 · PROVE will begin at release and use the first 90 days to identify signal, strengthen what works and convert activity into evidence. Until that phase is active, preserve your baseline and execute the launch calendar without manufacturing activity.
