ElevenMusic Guide 2026: Features, Royalties, Rights and Plans

ElevenMusic is a separate AI music platform from ElevenLabs that combines listening, original song creation, remixing, publishing and platform-based royalties. It is related to ElevenCreative Music, but the accounts, subscriptions, commercial workflows and earning systems are not the same.
Jack’s direct answer: Use ElevenMusic when you want to create inside a participatory music platform where listeners can discover, remix and engage with songs. Use ElevenCreative Music when you need downloadable music for videos, advertising, games, podcasts, client projects or other defined commercial uses. Keep BandLab in the workflow when you need a conventional project workspace for recording, editing, stems, mixing and release preparation.
The most important thing to understand before signing up:
- ElevenMusic and ElevenCreative Music are separate products.
- An ElevenCreative subscription does not transfer to ElevenMusic.
- ElevenMusic currently has its own Free and Pro subscriptions.
- ElevenMusic royalties, ElevenCreative Marketplace sales and commercial-use rights are three different questions.
- ElevenLabs describes its music model as fully licensed, but its terms still place responsibility on you to use lawful inputs, avoid impersonation and check the rights attached to the exact plan and output.
What is ElevenMusic?
ElevenMusic is an AI-powered platform for independent artists and music listeners. It connects four activities that normally happen in separate places:
- Discovery: Listen to music and find creators through the platform.
- Creation: Start from a lyric, melody, mood, vocal idea or production direction.
- Remixing: Reinterpret music that is available for participation inside the platform.
- Publishing and earning: Publish original tracks or remixes and potentially earn through the platform’s royalty system.
ElevenLabs says ElevenMusic launched with more than 4,000 independent and emerging artists. The platform is available on the web and through an iOS app.
The useful idea is not simply that ElevenMusic can generate a song. Suno and other tools can already do that. ElevenMusic is trying to make the generated or assisted song part of an interactive environment where listening can lead directly to remixing, sharing and continued creation.
Best fit: ElevenMusic becomes most interesting when your goal is not only to generate a finished file, but to let an audience interact with the music and participate in its creative life.
ElevenMusic vs ElevenCreative Music
The names are similar enough to create confusion. They should be treated as separate creator decisions.

One platform is not automatically better. The correct choice depends on what must happen after the song exists.

Do not upgrade because 400 tracks sounds more serious than five tracks per day. Upgrade when the Pro feature solves a defined project problem.
Stay Free while you are testing whether the platform fits your sound, workflow and audience. Consider Pro when you need stems, WAV downloads, analytics, greater output volume or royalty eligibility. Confirm current pricing and plan terms inside ElevenMusic before subscribing.
ElevenMusic Tools: start with what you already have
ElevenMusic’s Tools are useful because each one starts from a different kind of creator input.

Voice to Song is not permission to use any voice
A technically available feature does not remove the need for consent. Use your own voice, an authorized collaborator or a voice supplied under terms that permit your intended use.
Do not upload a recording because it “sounds close enough” to a famous singer. ElevenLabs’ Music Terms prohibit misleading impersonation and prompts intended to replicate identifiable recording artists.

Vocals and Styles: building consistency across songs
ElevenMusic added reusable Vocals to help creators maintain a more consistent singer identity across multiple tracks. A Vocal can be based on your own voice or selected from the platform’s Vocal Library.
ElevenLabs says creators can:
- Generate an original track from a voice recording through Voice to Song.
- Save a reusable Vocal by uploading a selection of existing music.
- Use a ready-made voice from the Vocal Library.
- Combine a Vocal with a reusable Style to create consistency in both singer and production direction.
ElevenLabs also says uploaded voice and music samples are screened for copyright compliance. Screening is a platform safeguard; it is not a substitute for your own proof of ownership and consent.
Strong creator use: Test one Vocal across three deliberately different songs. Keep the Vocal consistent while changing tempo, emotional direction and arrangement. This shows whether the identity is genuinely reusable or only works inside one narrow prompt.
Save a Vocal Source Record
For every Vocal or style identity, record:
- Who performed the source material
- Who owns the recordings and lyrics
- What permission was granted
- The date and plan used
- The source files uploaded
- The intended commercial or non-commercial use
- Any restrictions on future reuse
What Music v2 adds inside ElevenCreative
ElevenMusic and ElevenCreative are built on ElevenLabs music technology, but the detailed Music v2 production controls are most clearly documented inside ElevenCreative.
Music v2 currently adds:
- Improved prompt understanding and adherence
- Long-form section-by-section composition
- More complex and faster vocal delivery, including dense lyrical phrasing and rap
- Mid-track genre transitions
- Improved inpainting for regenerating selected sections
- Sound effects embedded inside music
- Audio Reference using a short uploaded track
- Curated and custom Music Finetunes
Audio Reference
Audio Reference lets you upload approximately 30 seconds of audio to guide characteristics such as mood, production style, instrumentation and tempo. ElevenLabs says the reference is screened for copyright compliance and is used as guidance rather than copied as a remix.
Use audio you created or control. Do not treat a commercially released song as a convenient reference merely because the uploader accepts the file.
Music Finetunes
Finetunes let you shape generations around a more persistent sound. Custom Finetunes should be built from source audio you have the right to use. ElevenCreative also offers curated Finetunes across various genres and regional styles.
Section editing
ElevenCreative allows creators to adjust lyrics, prompts, section length, style direction and arrangement without rebuilding the entire song from the beginning. This is one of the strongest differences between a simple one-prompt generator and a more controlled production workflow.

How can creators earn with ElevenMusic and ElevenLabs?
There are at least two separate music earning systems. Do not combine them into one promise.
1. ElevenMusic platform royalties
ElevenMusic says artists can publish original tracks or remixes, build an audience and earn when their music resonates. Earnings depend on listener engagement, eligibility thresholds and platform revenue.
Royalty eligibility is currently listed as a Pro benefit. That does not guarantee meaningful income. A creator still needs listeners, repeated engagement and a reason for people to care about the music.
2. ElevenCreative Music Marketplace licensing
The Music Marketplace allows ElevenLabs creators to publish AI-generated tracks for licensing. Buyers choose a usage type, and the creator receives a portion of the purchase.
ElevenLabs currently says creator payouts start at 25% of the purchase price, subject to fees and taxes. The available licences include social-media, paid-marketing and offline uses, with enterprise licensing required for certain larger uses.
Critical restriction: A person who buys a Music Marketplace track cannot distribute it to Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud or other music-streaming services. The buyer receives a usage licence, not ownership of the track or permission to release it as a standalone song.
Marketplace remixes remain subject to the same usage type and licensing restrictions as the original licensed track. A remix does not create broader rights than the buyer purchased.

Commercial use, ownership and rights
ElevenLabs describes its music model as developed with artists, labels and publishers and cleared for broad commercial use under applicable subscriptions and conditions. That is useful, but it does not mean every output is exclusive, every plan grants the same rights or every input is permitted.
Free output and paid output are not the same
ElevenLabs currently says content generated under a free plan is not licensed for commercial use. Non-commercial publication requires attribution, and free Eleven Music output must reference “Eleven Music” when shared.
ElevenLabs says paid plans generally include a commercial licence for eligible non-beta services, provided you hold the necessary rights and comply with its terms and policies. Commercial rights attach to content generated during the qualifying paid subscription, not retroactively to earlier free generations.
Output may not be unique
ElevenLabs’ Music Terms state that generated output may not be unique and may be similar or identical to output generated for other users. Do not promise a client that an AI generation is automatically exclusive merely because you generated it first.
Prompts cannot rely on artist or song names
The current Music Terms prohibit inputs that use:
- An artist’s real or stage name
- A songwriter’s real or stage name
- A song title
- An album title
- A label or publisher name
- A substantial or recognizable portion of lyrics intended to reference a particular song
Describe musical characteristics instead: tempo, instrumentation, rhythm, vocal range, emotional arc, song structure, production era and intended use.
Impersonation remains prohibited
Do not prompt for a voice, likeness or identifiable artist characteristic in a way that could mislead people or imply endorsement. A saved Vocal should represent a person who consented, a properly licensed platform voice or an original identity that does not falsely trade on someone else.
“Fully licensed model” does not erase your responsibilities
You are still responsible for:
- The lyrics you provide
- The voice recordings you upload
- The reference audio used
- Consent from collaborators
- The rights needed for your final commercial use
- Avoiding outputs that you know or should know are infringing
- Keeping proof of the plan, date, terms and source material

Important warning for churches, ministries and religious organizations
ElevenLabs’ current Music Terms list religious organizations or institutions among the prohibited industries for the Music service.
This requires special attention for Jack Righteous readers creating church media, ministry content, worship resources or faith-organization projects.
An individual creator making faith-rooted work is not automatically identical to a religious organization or institution. However, a church, ministry, religious school or organization should not assume it is permitted to use Eleven Music merely because the technical interface is available.
Before using Eleven Music for an organizational faith project:
- Read the current Music Terms directly.
- Identify whether the customer is an individual or an organization.
- Contact ElevenLabs for written clarification when the project involves a church, ministry or institution.
- Do not sell or deploy the work until the permitted use is clear.
- Keep the response with the project’s rights documentation.
Jack’s position: Faith-rooted content deserves the same disciplined rights review as every other serious project. A meaningful message does not remove the need to follow the platform’s contract.

These platforms overlap, but they do not serve the same primary purpose.

Step 1: Define the result
Choose one outcome before opening the platform:
- An original song for the ElevenMusic platform
- A remixable fan-engagement track
- A consistent Vocal test
- An alternate version of an existing authorized song

Step 2: Choose the correct product
Use ElevenMusic for platform participation. Use ElevenCreative for external production, downloadable assets, Marketplace licensing and broader voice tools.
Step 3: Prepare only authorized source material
Save lyrics, vocal recordings, melody notes, reference audio and collaborator permissions before uploading.
Step 4: Create a small test
Do not begin by generating dozens of tracks. Create two or three controlled tests that answer one question:
- Does this Vocal remain consistent?
- Does Genreshift preserve what matters?
- Does the platform improve the rough vocal rather than erase its identity?
- Does the audience interact with the song?
Step 5: Export and finish outside the generator when needed
Move important work into BandLab or another DAW when you need detailed editing, recording, stem management, mastering and release preparation.
Step 6: Save a rights and proof record
