Leonardo AI Video Continuity

The hardest part of an AI video is often not generating a beautiful clip. It is making the next clip feel like it belongs to the same project. Continuity requires anchors.

Start with an approved frame

Use a clean, high-quality still where the character, wardrobe, environment and composition are already acceptable. Motion should extend a decision, not hide an unresolved still-image problem.

Use each control for a different job

• Start frame: anchors where the shot begins.
• End frame: constrains where the shot should land or helps bridge toward the next composition.
• Image reference: carries visual identity/style/content influence into generation.
• Video reference: carries motion, behavior or other video information when the selected workflow/model supports it.
• Saved video frame: turns a successful moment from one clip into production input for the next.

The handoff-frame method

1. Generate Shot A from the approved source.
2. Review the entire clip; identify the strongest stable frame near the intended transition.
3. Save that frame to uploads/reference material.
4. Use it as the start or reference anchor for Shot B.
5. Change only the action/camera/story requirement needed for Shot B.
6. Compare the cut between A and B before generating the rest of the sequence.

Diagnose continuity drift

• Face changes: strengthen identity reference or simplify angle/motion.
• Wardrobe changes: explicitly anchor signature details; decide whether variation is intentional.
• Environment changes: carry location reference or end/start composition forward.
• Camera jumps: plan shot size and transition rather than prompting clips independently.
• Motion becomes chaotic: simplify action and test a model suited to the required movement.

Do not use the same model by habit

A project can use different models if the result remains coherent. Model consistency is not the same as visual continuity. Choose the tool by shot requirement, then protect the visual anchors. Use the Leonardo Model Selector.
