Updated July 19, 2026 for Suno v5.5, Voices, Custom Models, My Taste and Studio 1.2
This page is the starting point for Jack Righteous Suno training. It does not assume everyone needs the same guide. Choose the problem you have now, complete one useful step, and move forward only when the result gives you a new problem worth solving.
The path: choose a song idea → establish rights and purpose → prompt the sound → structure the lyrics → generate and compare → personalize or upload audio → edit and finish → release, build an audience and document the work.
Do not read every guide before creating. Start with the card that sounds most like your current problem.

Open the Beginner GuideClarify the primary genre, mood, pace, instruments, vocal character and section behavior before adding more words.
Fix My Prompt DirectionUse clearer section labels, lyric length, contrast and arrangement instructions instead of treating meta tags like guaranteed commands.
Open the Meta Tags GuideSave the strongest version, identify one variable, compare alternates and decide whether the problem belongs in the prompt, lyrics, arrangement or edit.
Use the Production WorkflowUnderstand Voices, Personas, Custom Models and My Taste before assuming one feature will create a stable artist identity automatically.
Go to Voice and IdentityUse audio upload only with material you own or can use, then decide whether to Extend, Cover, add vocals or bring the recording into a larger edit.
Use the Audio WorkflowMove into the Song Editor or Studio instead of restarting the full generation every time a section, transition, effect or timing issue appears.
Go to Editing and StudioConfirm rights, contributors, files, metadata, disclosure, distributor fit, audience path and what the release is supposed to accomplish.
Go to Release and GrowthA guide written around short generations, Personas alone and constant full-song regeneration is no longer enough. The current platform includes more ways to personalize, upload, edit and finish music—but each feature adds new rights and workflow decisions.
Voices lets eligible users create with their own verified vocal identity. Suno requires a spoken verification phrase and a confirmation that the user has rights to the voice. Availability can vary by location, and users must be at least 18.
Pro and Premier users can build up to three private Custom Models using at least six songs they own. This can support a more recognizable sound, but it also makes source ownership and catalog selection part of the model-building process.
My Taste learns from listening and creation preferences and can influence style augmentation. When a result drifts, compare the written prompt with the personalization Suno may be applying.
Studio 1.2 adds tools including Remove FX, time-signature grid support, warp markers and improved alternates. That moves some problems from regeneration into detailed editing and comping.
Basic users can upload up to 60 seconds, while Pro and Premier users can upload up to eight minutes. Current models can also create longer initial songs than early Suno versions.
Creators can replace sections, adjust lyrics, add or move sections, crop, fade, extend and extract stems. Better prompting still matters, but finishing no longer depends only on generating a completely new song.
Stage 1
Before you prompt a style, decide what the song is for. A private experiment, songwriting demo, fictional artist release, client project, podcast intro and commercial single require different levels of documentation and control.
Move forward when: you can explain what you are making, who contributed, what material you control and what a successful result would let you do next.
Use this for the broader beginner path before narrowing the work to Suno alone.
Open the Free Starter HubUnderstand tool permission, human authorship, collaborators, voice, likeness and commercial release preparation.
Open Rights and OwnershipStage 2
A useful style prompt establishes a center. Start with one primary genre, one or two useful mood or energy words, approximate pace, a small number of sound anchors and one vocal, section or production goal.
Foundation: primary genre + mood or energy + BPM or pace + three to five sound anchors + one vocal, arrangement or production direction.
Use the Exclude field for elements you do not want instead of turning the style description into a long argument. Avoid naming living artists when genre, vocal qualities, instrumentation, rhythm and production language can describe the target.
Move forward when: you can generate several versions that clearly belong to the same musical lane, even when individual melodies and performances differ.
Learn what a clear prompt does, diagnose common failures and copy practical starting templates.
Read Best Suno PromptsUse copyable genre examples when you need vocabulary and a clearer starting lane.
Open the A–C Prompt GuideUse this after basic prompt clarity is no longer enough and conflicts, priorities or production boundaries remain unstable.

Style prompting cannot rescue lyrics that are too long, structurally flat or unclear about who is speaking. Decide the point of view, emotional movement and central hook before adding structural instructions.
Move forward when: the lyric can be read without music and still has a clear speaker, progression, hook and reason for the chorus to return.
Learn how to use section, performance and arrangement guidance without overcrowding the lyric field.
Open the Meta Tags GuideUse this as a deeper structural reference when verses, choruses, transitions and endings need more deliberate direction.
Open the Structure GuideConnect style instructions, lyric behavior, exclusions and iteration into one clearer input system.
Use the Prompt TrackUse all six Sound stages when you need more than prompting: direction, building, control, packaging, scaling and monetization readiness.
View Full Find Your SoundThe Builder Control Bundle is the focused route when the problem spans prompting, song building, structure, meta tags, field placement and troubleshooting. Full Core Path 1 is the larger route when you also need packaging, scaling and monetization readiness.
Stage 4
Generation is an audition process. Two outputs do not prove the idea failed, and twenty uncontrolled outputs do not prove you worked deeply. Give each generation a reason.
Move forward when: you have one version worth protecting, a documented reason it is strongest and a short list of remaining problems.
Use a repeatable compare, repair and version-control process instead of generating until the credits disappear.
Open Production WorkflowOrganize project folders, naming, evidence, decisions and release files before a growing catalog becomes unmanageable.
Open Creator SystemsStage 5
Current Suno features can make the output feel closer to you, but they solve different problems.
Do not combine every identity feature immediately. Test the plain prompt first, then add one personalization layer. That makes it easier to know whether a Voice, Persona, Custom Model or My Taste is helping or pulling the song away from the target.
Rights rule: upload only audio and catalog material you own or are authorized to use. Suno’s Voice setup also asks users to verify the voice and affirm usage rights.
Use this when individual songs are strong but the catalog still sounds like unrelated artists.
Open Sonic BrandingUse this when the project involves a public artist identity, catalog, story, visual system and audience—not only isolated songs.
Open the AI Music Artist PathStage 6
The first full generation does not need to be the final master. Use the smallest repair that solves the actual weakness.
Studio 1.2’s time-signature setting changes the editing grid and metronome, but Suno notes that it does not currently send the selected meter to the generative model. That is an example of why the creator still needs to understand what each control actually affects.
Move forward when: the song has a deliberate beginning, stable sections, an intentional ending, acceptable timing, useful exports and no known problem that would embarrass you after release.
Use the repair and decision framework before paying for wider access or rebuilding the song from zero.

A finished file is not yet a useful release. Decide what the song should do for the creator, artist, audience or business.
Release rule: the platform may allow a download or commercial use, but that does not automatically prove copyright protection, clear contributor rights or readiness for every distributor and market.
Use a readiness decision instead of releasing every generation because it exists.

The prompt may lack one primary genre, a limited sound palette or a clear production goal. My Taste, a selected Persona, Voice or Custom Model may also be influencing the output.
No. Establish the song idea, style and lyric purpose first. Meta tags work better when they organize a clear song rather than compensate for an unclear concept.
Voices is designed to use a verified version of your own voice in v5.5. Personas can recall style and vocal characteristics from a Suno song. They solve related but different identity problems.
No. They can push v5.5 toward a catalog you own, but song quality still depends on the source tracks, prompt, lyrics, arrangement, editing and selection.
Use Studio when the core song is worth keeping and the remaining problem involves timing, effects, clip replacement, alternates, recording, stems or arrangement repair.
No. Upload only material you own or are authorized to use. Suno requires users to agree that they have rights to uploaded material, and Custom Models also require rights to the source songs.
No. A plan may provide commercial-use permission under Suno’s terms, but copyright protection, collaborator rights, voice and likeness, samples, disclosure and distributor rules are separate issues.
