Uber Eats Halloween 2026: Is October 31 Worth Delivering?

Halloween lands on Saturday, October 31, 2026. That could change what people order and where they travel—but it doesn't automatically make Uber Eats more profitable. Here's how to decide whether the weekend is worth testing, with both Uber passenger driving and Uber Eats delivery as real signup choices.

Is Halloween worth delivering for in Canada?
It's worth investigating if you're eligible, can work safely and have a practical local zone. The holiday falls on a Saturday, when normal weekend ordering overlaps with celebrations, restaurant activity and children trick-or-treating. None of that proves your market will have more useful requests—or better earnings per hour.
A better decision is to compare Halloween against a regular Saturday using actual offers, online time, restaurant waits and operating costs. Uber says Canadian delivery fares consider estimated time and distance, multiple pickup or drop-offs, and demand relative to available couriers. It does not promise Halloween earnings.

What might change on Halloween night?
- Food delivery: Families at home, gatherings and later meals can shift which restaurants receive orders.
- Grocery and convenience: Snacks, drinks and last-minute party supplies may result in Shop & Deliver requests where Uber offers that service.
- Passenger rides: Eligible rideshare drivers may see trips around parties and nightlife, with different pickup rules, liability and vehicle requirements.
- Operational friction: More children on foot, parked vehicles, blocked curb space, traffic and unavailable merchants can slow any work type.
Food, shopping and passenger rides are different activities. A crowded street or a nightlife event alone is not evidence of profitable orders.
Three windows to consider—not guaranteed peak times
Friday, October 30
Use a familiar dinner shift as a normal-weekend comparison. Check restaurant waits, tips, routes and costs before the actual holiday.
Saturday, October 31
Compare daytime errands, early dinner and late evening separately. Around trick-or-treating hours, pedestrian safety comes first.
Sunday, November 1
Reassess brunch, dinner or no shift at all using what happened Saturday. Daylight saving time ends in many Canadian regions, which can affect late-night schedules.

The hidden cost: crowds and low visibility
Halloween delivery has a special operational risk: children may step into the road between parked cars, costumes can reduce visibility, and party traffic can create unsafe pickup and drop-off conditions. Slow down, use legal stopping points and stop working if driving conditions become unsafe.

A quick test for whether the shift was worth it
Don't compare a single high payout against a normal day. After a defined shift, record:
- Gross app payout and tips, avoiding double-counting.
- Total hours online, not just active order time.
- Kilometres, fuel or charging, vehicle wear, parking and tolls.
- Merchant preparation or shopping delays and unpaid repositioning.
- Approximate operating profit per total online hour, before tax.
