How to Use the AI Artist & Creator Identity Builder

Use this worksheet to describe what should remain recognizable as you create more. Bring an existing song, lyric, demo or project idea. If you have not completed a creator cycle yet, mark your answers PROVISIONAL and return after your first test. At the end of FIND, this card supplies the Artist Identity part of your required profile checkpoint.

ONE PROJECT → WORKING IDENTITY → REAL CREATIVE TEST → REVIEW THE EVIDENCE

New to creating? Start at Creator Launchpad. Finishing FIND? Bring your Modules 1–4 evidence, mark untested answers provisional, then return to the remaining profile areas.

Step 1 · Start With What Already Earned Another Round

Choose one real piece, prototype, character, song, story, visual direction or creator idea. If you have tested it, build from what the work showed. If you have not tested it yet, label the identity a working hypothesis and name the first test.

  • What worked?
  • What felt like you?
  • What do you want to repeat?
  • What would you refuse to lose in the next version?

Step 2 · Fill the Identity Core

Purpose / Flame

Why is this worth continuing?

Working Name

A useful label for the creator, artist, world, project or recurring identity.

Identity Statement

One clear sentence describing what this identity exists to express or do.

Core Lane

The main creative territory it belongs in — without trapping it inside one output.

Step 3 · Define Recognition, Not Rigidity

Emotional Territory

The feelings and tensions you return to repeatedly.

Voice / Performance

How the identity speaks, performs or communicates.

Sonic / Visual / Creative Language

Repeatable creative signals — musical, visual, narrative or interactive.

Boundaries

What does not belong, even if the individual idea is good.

Signature Traits

Three to five traits that help separate “recognizable” from “random.”

Change vs. Recognition

Write what may evolve and what should remain recognizable.

Step 4 · Do the Three-Idea Test

  1. A: test the profile against something you already made.
  2. B: test it against what you want to make next.
  3. C: test it against something deliberately different that might still belong.

If only one fits, you probably have a project brief. If all three fit too easily, the identity may be too vague.

Operator decision: KEEP → ADJUST → SIMPLIFY → TEST AGAIN.

Step 5 · Use AI as a Challenger, Not the Owner

Ask AI to identify contradictions, compare versions, show which traits are generic, or test whether your boundaries actually separate what belongs from what does not. Then make the decision yourself.

Useful prompt: “Review this identity profile against these three ideas. Show me which traits are consistently supported, which are assumptions, and which are too broad to be useful. Do not rewrite it until I approve the diagnosis.”

Step 6 · Action It Now

Do not finish the workbook and immediately open another worksheet. Apply the completed profile to one real next asset.

IDENTITY PROFILE → ONE REAL ASSET → BUILD ONE VERSION → TEST → OPERATOR DECISION

For music, use it to judge whether a new song still belongs to the artist. For a story, use it to test whether a new scene or character still belongs to the world. For an app/game, use it to judge whether the interaction still feels like the same project. For visual work, use it to decide which recurring elements are recognition and which are decoration.

What am I supposed to do with this Artist Identity Card?

Choose one artist or creator project you already started. Use the eight boxes below to capture the decisions you want to keep consistent. You are not writing a biography or designing a full brand today.

  1. Give your project a working name and say what the human creator actually does.
  2. Describe why the work matters, who may enjoy it, and what people should recognize about it.
  3. State what may change, what does not belong, and one real piece of work that supports your answers.
  4. Choose one next action. Type directly into the white boxes, then use Copy, Export or Print. Answers save on this device when browser storage permits.

Not sure of an answer? Write PROVISIONAL and keep going. Your goal is a usable first identity record, not a perfect identity.

See a completed fictional AI music artist example

Example only: “Harbor Echo” is an invented artist concept for teaching. It is not a real performer, catalogue or rights claim. Notice how each answer is short enough to use in a working record.

Working name
Harbor Echo (working title).
Artist model and human role
An AI-assisted music project. I write the lyrics, choose musical direction, compare versions, and approve the final work. The generated vocal is not claimed to be a real human singer.
Purpose and listener
Reflective, hopeful songs for listeners who like soulful reggae-pop and honest stories about resilience. The audience assumption still needs testing.
Three recognizable traits
Warm bass-led grooves; spacious organ or guitar touches; direct, hopeful first-person lyrics.
What can change / what stays
Tempo and supporting instruments can change. The steady emotional centre, meaningful lyrics and bass-driven feel should stay recognizable.
Not this artist / boundaries
No celebrity voice imitation, invented session-player credits or exaggerated claims about who performed.
One piece of evidence
Demo “Night Ferry v1” is an illustrative file name: it has the intended groove, but the chorus is not ready yet.
Next real action
Keep the current demo as the baseline. Try a revised chorus with one meaningful change, then compare whether the artist identity still fits.

Important: This is an example of a record, not a prompt to imitate somebody else's work. Your answers and your evidence are what matter.

Your One-Page Artist Identity Card

This free exercise is complete on this page—no checkout or PDF required. Choose an existing project or something you want to continue. You don't need a finished catalogue, and you can mark untested answers PROVISIONAL. This card is your starting point for the full ASK JACK program if and when you want it.

A working name is fine; do not claim ownership you cannot support.

Creator-led, fictional, virtual or hybrid; who approves decisions?

Who is this for and what should the work make them feel or understand?

Name audible, expressive or story traits—not just 'unique' or 'powerful'.

Genre, energy, song topic, visual style or performance choices?

What choices, imitations or representations do not belong?

Actual song, lyric, demo or artwork supporting the current identity (or PROVISIONAL).

Which asset will you apply the profile to, or which assumption will you test?

This worksheet can save only in this browser when browser storage is available. No answers are sent to Jack Righteous by this form. If browser saving is unavailable, use Copy before you leave.

How to know you're finished

Can you point to one real creative example, describe three traits that should remain recognizable, say what may evolve, and make one defendable next decision? If yes, your free working card is complete. You do not need seven days, another product, or a paid tier just to define a starting identity.

Optional download: Free Artist & Creator Identity Student Pack (two editable PDFs). Deeper ASK JACK implementation: seven-day guided program (member access). FIND → BUILD profile references can help you connect the result to your sound direction and Project Record.

Your Artist Identity path

Keep one identity record and develop it as your work needs more depth. The free card supplies the Artist Identity part of your FIND profile checkpoint. Member lessons require the corresponding access; completing every paid level is not a requirement for moving to BUILD.
