Assemble the One-Song Release Package

WHERE YOU ARE: The creative asset and its public presentation are now defined. Your final Phase 2 job is to make the package understandable without depending on your memory or a verbal explanation.

YOU SHOULD ALREADY HAVE

  • Label-Ready Song Master Packet.
  • Track Positioning & Identity Record.
  • Release Metadata & Credits Record.
  • Visual & Copy Packet.
  • Any validated Voice PACKAGE, Sound PACKAGE or other upstream evidence referenced by those records.
ONE-SONG RELEASE PACKAGE ├── 01_MASTER │ └── Approved release master + real supporting audio ├── 02_RIGHTS_PROVENANCE │ └── Phase 1 + validated upstream contribution, permission and provenance evidence ├── 03_METADATA_CREDITS │ └── Release Metadata & Credits Record ├── 04_LYRICS_COPY │ └── Lyrics, bio, release description, track note ├── 05_ARTWORK_VISUALS │ └── Approved cover master + source/editable file where available └── 06_PACKAGE_MANIFEST └── What exists, exact filenames, record references, date/version and known Yellow items

THE DECISION

Could another competent person receive this package and identify the approved song, rights context, credits, artwork and public copy without asking which files or records are current?

DO THE WORK

  1. Create one release-package folder using a clear track/project name.
  2. Move or copy only approved/current assets into the appropriate folders. Keep experimental material outside the handoff package.
  3. Reference validated upstream records instead of duplicating them when the existing evidence still applies to the exact master.
  4. Create a simple package manifest listing the canonical master, key records, referenced upstream evidence and asset filenames.
  5. Check title/name spelling across audio filenames, artwork, lyrics, metadata and copy.
  6. Check that rights/provenance documentation describes the same master in the audio folder.
  7. Mark optional assets as optional rather than pretending they exist.
  8. Run the Red / Yellow / Green packaging gate below.

PACKAGE GATE

RED · DO NOT DEPLOYWrong/uncertain master, unresolved ownership/permission issue, conflicting identity/credits, broken artwork rights or a missing core asset that prevents responsible distribution.
YELLOW · DOCUMENTOptional asset is missing, a non-blocking admin item is pending, or a platform-specific item must wait for Phase 3. Record it and assign an owner/date where useful.
GREEN · PACKAGE READYMaster, rights evidence, identity, metadata/credits, lyrics, artwork and release copy all agree and can be handed off coherently.

SAVE THIS

The completed One-Song Release Package and package manifest are the evidence of Phase 2 completion. Validated upstream evidence may be referenced by record/file location rather than copied or rewritten.

DO NOT ADVANCE IF

  • More than one file appears to be the approved release master.
  • The rights packet and metadata credit different people or roles without explanation.
  • The artwork/title/artist identity does not match the release metadata.
  • An imported record belongs to a superseded material version and has not been revalidated.
  • You are using a full pitch deck to hide the fact that basic release files are missing.

READY TO CONTINUE WHEN

The package is Green for deployment and any Yellow items are genuinely non-blocking, assigned and documented.

PHASE 2 COMPLETE · CANONICAL NEXT

You now have a professional release package. Move it into an intentional release operation.

Phase 3 · DEPLOY will choose the release runway, distributor workflow, artist-profile preparation, pitching, audience destinations, launch inventory and baseline measurement. Preserve this package as the source of truth while deployment decisions are made.
