What changed in the Second Edition
The book now separates access, coordination, expertise and judgment instead of treating “AI capability” as one thing.
The Second Edition was rebuilt with a formal research cutoff, source notes, labor and infrastructure evidence, and explicit distinctions between documented fact, interpretation and forecast.
The finished edition explains how AI materially assisted research, drafting, comparison, restructuring and editorial work while Gary Whittaker remained the human author and final editorial decision-maker.
