When you hear Cash Money Records, you're talking about the New Orleans label built by Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams, and a legacy associated with Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. Cash Money's own history calls it the most successful independent label in history. Its influence is a major reason this collaboration matters.

Now that industry experience is being connected to the classrooms and studios of Musitechnic / Collège Unica through the Cash Money Records / E&A Talent Elite Coaching Program.

We believe this could be an important new model for music education: not simply teaching students to make songs, but helping them understand the many different roles and professional skills involved in building a music career. Hip-Hop Magazine's June 2026 reporting described the partnership as an unprecedented alliance with no known equivalent. That is an exciting assessment, though it should not be mistaken for a verified claim that no label-school partnership has ever existed elsewhere.

I'm joining the program as its independent AI Music Specialist, responsible for the dedicated artificial-intelligence music component. My work is one part of a much bigger undertaking, and that is exactly what makes this opportunity compelling.

Beyond the recording artist: a wider world of music careers

Not every student will become a recording star. Nor should that be the only measure of what music education can make possible. The program is designed to introduce students to the work that happens on stage, behind the mixing desk, inside a label and across the business of music.

Its published curriculum includes artist development and branding; songwriting, beatmaking and production; recording and studio workflows; music publishing, royalties and distribution; contracts and management; marketing, touring and professional conduct; plus A&R, talent evaluation, industry networking and creative entrepreneurship.

Those areas can inform many different career directions: performers, producers, songwriters, audio engineers, beatmakers, artist managers, A&R professionals, marketers and other music-business specialists. These are potential pathways and skills, not promised jobs, placements or record deals.

The larger ambition is a stronger bridge between school-based learning and an industry that students often find difficult to enter. Access to experienced professionals, critiques, workshops, case studies and, where available, guest speakers or showcases could make that bridge more practical. The exact opportunities depend on program delivery and availability.

What has been confirmed

The official English and French program documents identify November 1, 2026 as the planned start date and a 16-month duration. Students accepted into the program receive an additional four-hour coaching session each week. Instruction is described as a mix of in-person learning, remote participation, live seminars and interactive workshops.

Program tuition is listed as CAD $7,000 before applicable taxes, split across four payments due November 2026, March 2027, July 2027 and November 2027. The documents illustrate a CAD $8,048.25 total if the stated GST and QST apply; the school must confirm tax treatment before invoicing. The application also mentions possible government assistance for eligible students, but it is not guaranteed.

The wider program — and the people involved

The Elite Coaching Program is designed to help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of the music industry. The school materials describe artist branding and career planning, royalties and publishing, contracts and distribution, professional studio workflows, talent evaluation, networking, negotiation and long-term development.

Program leadership materials name AM Sharma, James “Redd Eyezz” Pierre, Chuck Ice and Josh Daniel, alongside my AI music teaching role. Chuck's contribution has special meaning to me because our work together is about more than a technology lesson: it's about connecting the experience of an established music community with what the next generation is capable of creating.

If you want the background on that collaboration, read my Chuck Ice Creator Spotlight and the earlier Musitechnic and Montreal creator-development story.

What students will explore in the AI music component

The official curriculum outline includes AI-assisted songwriting and production, AI vocal generation, prompt engineering, workflow optimization, ethical practices, copyright considerations, legal questions, current industry standards, emerging technologies and future trends.

For me, the point is not simply showing a student where to click. It is helping them make better creative decisions. When should AI support a song idea? How can a producer evaluate a generated part? What should a creator document about the tools they've used? When are the rights unclear? What do you do when the technology changes again next month?

These are the kinds of questions that make instruction useful beyond a single software version.

Why I'm involved

I've spent the last few years building JackRighteous.com around one central belief: you can use new creative technology without surrendering your own identity, judgment or ownership decisions to it.

When I started experimenting with AI music, the interesting part was how much it made possible. The harder lesson was realizing how much still depended on the person steering it. You have to listen. You have to revise. You have to know what you're making, how you're making it, and what you can responsibly claim about the result.

That's the perspective I want to bring into this classroom. It matters even more when students are learning alongside established music-industry professionals.

Who should ask about applying?

The application invites current Musitechnic students and new applicants, including artists, songwriters, producers, engineers, beatmakers, music executives, artist managers, entrepreneurs and people interested in AI music. The program reviews applications; applying does not guarantee admission.

Activities may include workshops, listening sessions, critiques, visiting speakers, networking and video features. Particular artist submissions, music placements and showcase opportunities are not guaranteed. Enrollment does not promise a recording contract or label representation.

What comes next

I'll continue sharing practical AI music education through JackRighteous.com while preparing my contribution to the program. My teaching materials and the institution's admissions process serve different purposes, and I'll keep that distinction clear.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to work alongside Chuck Ice, Musitechnic / Collège Unica, E&A Talent and the Cash Money Records program team. What excites me is the chance to give students something they can actually use: more context, better questions, practical skills, and more responsibility for the creative work they put into the world.
