Studio Finish Builder: Approve, Export & Preserve Your Work

Finishing is a decision, not a feeling. Carry forward the approved production version, decide whether Studio has completed its job, export only what the next stage needs, and preserve enough evidence to understand the project later.

Stop when the asset is ready for its next job — not when you have exhausted every possible edit.

1. Carry forward the approved production state

2. Final stop-editing decision

Before exporting, decide whether any remaining issue actually blocks the asset's intended job.

3. Stay in Studio or hand off?

Do not leave Studio because a DAW feels more professional. Leave only when you can name the control, collaborator or deliverable the next environment must provide.

Need the deeper matrix? Use TP4 Appendix E: Studio vs External Tools Decision Matrix.

4. Choose the Minimum Sufficient Export

Export because each file has a job. Do not create a giant asset dump unless the next use genuinely requires it.

For detailed export architecture, use TP4 Chapter 14: Stems, Exports & Handoff Decisions.

5. Build the handoff manifest

File / asset Role Destination Verified?

6. Naming, versioning and recovery

For the full file system, use TP4 Chapter 16: Naming, Versioning & File Organization.

7. Creator contribution and provenance record

This is a creator record, not an automatic copyright determination.

8. Rights and release hold

9. Final quality review

For the deeper gate, use TP4 Chapter 17: Final Quality Review Before Forward.

10. Forward movement decision

For formal routing, use TP4 Chapter 18: Forward Movement Decision.

11. Build the Studio Finish Package

Completion gate

Studio applied path complete

You have moved one real project through Plan → Produce → Finish. Continue inside Package Your Sound when the asset needs deeper packaging, delivery, release-readiness or creator-system work.
