Creation Day Salad - Jack Righteous

Creation Day Salad

  • A variety of green leaves (like spinach, kale, and lettuce), colorful fruits (such as apples, oranges, and grapes), seeds (like sunflower or pumpkin seeds), and nuts (almonds or walnuts).

  1. Gather Ingredients: For each day of Creation, we'll use different ingredients. Start with washing and prepping the greens for land, and cut fruits for trees and stars.
  2. Making the Salad: In a large bowl, place each ingredient in sections. Greens for land, fruits for trees and stars, seeds for birds and fish, and nuts for the sun and moon. Arrange them like a beautiful canvas of nature.
  3. Flavor and Dressing: Drizzle a light vinaigrette over the salad. You can make a simple one with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. It will enhance the flavors without overpowering the natural taste of the ingredients.
  4. Serve with a Smile: Share the salad while talking about the story of Creation. And remember, as we eat, we also tidy up, keeping our creation (our kitchen) neat and clean.

  • Use cookie cutters to make fruit shapes, adding a playful touch.
  • Toast the nuts slightly for an extra crunch and richer flavor.
